Nashville and Insurance Innovators USA did not disappoint! 🎸🐧 First, if you have not had the chance to hear Nicole Farley on stage, you are missing out. She was absolutely incredible this week, and I could not have been more proud to be in that room watching her represent Bold Penguin. Also got some really great time in with Tori Allee Carothers and Jay A. Patel, CFA, and so many of our amazing partners and potential partners, the kind of time that reminds you why you love this industry and its people! Now... did I travel on Mother's Day? Yes. Yes, I did. Was it worth it? Also, yes, but only because I squeezed in my daughter's rugby tournament before I got on a plane! Sometimes you just have to get on the plane, bang out the meetings, and trust that the kids will forgive you with a belated brunch and homemade tic-tac-toe board (which my son happily gave me when I got home)! Here is what I was pondering on the plane last night. The themes Nicole captured are spot on: faster submissions, appetite intelligence earlier in the process, and AI that improves outcomes, not just automates tasks. I am hearing all of that too! But the theme that is hitting ME the hardest right now, and honestly, my entire theme for 2026, is this: We need to listen to each other...... What I keep hearing at every conference, every meeting, every conversation is that this industry does not want AI to replace relationships. We want it to enhance them. Producers want to properly write the right risk with the right carrier. They want more time to actually serve their clients. They want the human element back. I think this is 100% achievable, but only if we, as technology partners, are willing to sit down, shut up for a minute, and truly listen to what brokers and carriers actually need from us. The companies that will win are not just the ones with the best technology. They are the ones who combine great technology WITH great partnerships. And that means showing up, listening, being honest about what works and what does not, and building together. Partnership and listening. That is my 2026, 2027, 2028, and beyond. Every conference. Every meeting. Every conversation. So grateful for this team, this industry, and, yes, even the Mother's Day flights... Oh, and for sushi....always for sushi!
