A year after a workplace accident left Joe unable to move his arms or legs and reliant on a ventilator, he had one goal: to get home and reclaim his life. Joe became a client of both BAYADA and Paradigm, which specializes in injury management. Together with our BAYADAbility™ Rehab Solutions team of experts, who oversee care coordination for clients with catastrophic diagnoses, they worked closely to plan his transition home. With input from Joe's doctors and Paradigm Network Manager, BAYADA developed an individualized, comprehensive care plan for Joe. Because his care team understood the challenges of living with a spinal cord injury, they focused on safety, preventive measures, and early identification of serious secondary complications. Fifteen months after his spinal cord injury, Joe regained movement and independence in the setting that mattered most to him, at home with his family, community, and a dedicated team of home health care clinicians. Our Willow Grove, PA Assistive Care office recently partnered with our Workforce Development team to host an in-person Advance Through Nursing information session, giving members of the community a deeper understanding of this meaningful program. The presentation highlighted how the program supports caregivers as they pursue their first nursing license through financial assistance, individualized coaching, and structured career pathways within BAYADA. We were grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and explore how we can continue supporting our caregivers throughout their nursing journey. In honor of Military Appreciation Month, we’re proud to recognize Ally O'Neal, BAYADA’s National Director of Veteran Affairs and a veteran, who leads our Salute to Service Program. Through this work, BAYADA helps ensure our care and support remain aligned with the unique needs of the military and veteran community. Our teams are trained to support veterans living with PTSD and other service-connected diagnoses, while also partnering with local and national organizations to help connect veterans to the benefits, resources, and support they’ve earned. Around 50 BAYADA advocates joined clients, families, caregivers, and fellow home care supporters for Delaware Advocacy Day. In 1998, Ann Baiada, RN, CRRN-Retired, founded BAYADAbility™ Rehab Solutions, the first in-home rehabilitative nursing program in the country. She created the program to better support clients affected by catastrophic injuries, such as spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries, as well as those living with chronic illnesses, such as ALS and MS. The Massachusetts Registered Apprenticeship team recently visited our BAYADA Pediatrics office in Foxboro, MA, for a behind-the-scenes look at our Nurse Residency Program. During their visit, they observed a hands-on training session in our skilled nursing lab, where our nurse residents practice essential clinical skills, including infant tracheostomy tube changes.
