About us

The Arizona Diamondbacks have won five National League West Division Championships (1999, 2001-02, 2007, 2011) since entering Major League Baseball as an expansion franchise in 1998. The D-backs also became the fastest expansion team to win a World Series Championship after defeating the New York Yankees in the 2001 World Series in only their fourth year of existence. The club plays its games at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix, which features a signature swimming pool and a retractable roof, to keep fans comfortable in an air-conditioned facility during the hot summer months. The organization has also given back more than $55 million to non-profit organizations in Arizona since 1997 through its Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and is consistently named among the “Best Places to Work” by the Phoenix Business Journal and BestCompaniesAZ. • On Brain Tumor Awareness Day, the Arizona Diamondbacks honored Nicole Hazen with a $200,000 donation to Ivy Brain Tumor Center and Dr. Nader Sanai, with matching support from the Barrow Women’s Board. Through the Nicole Hazen Fund for Hope, Mike Hazen and his four sons, along with the Diamondbacks Foundation, have now contributed more than $2 million toward glioblastoma research, treatment and clinical trials in Nicole’s memory. We also recognized the incredible strength and impact of Tim Soukup, whose resilience through brain cancer continues to inspire, and Catherine Ivy, whose dedication to advancing aggressive brain cancer research through the Ben & Catherine Ivy Foundation has helped drive hope for so many families. A powerful day honoring Nicole’s legacy and the ongoing fight against brain cancer. ❤️

  • We had the privilege of celebrating 63 incredible Arizona nonprofits during the Derrick Hall President’s Circle Grants ceremony at Chase Field. ❤️⚾ Through this program, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation awarded $309,000 in grants to organizations creating meaningful change across our state — from expanding healthcare access and fighting hunger to supporting vulnerable populations and strengthening communities. Originally established in 1998 and renamed in honor of President, CEO & General Partner Derrick Hall in 2024, the program has now distributed more than $7.3 million to forward-thinking nonprofits throughout Arizona. As the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation recently surpassed $100 million in charitable giving, events like this serve as a reminder that the true impact of our organization extends far beyond the field.

  • Big-time recognition for a big-time start. 👏 Ildemaro Vargas is your NL Player of the Month for March/April — his first career honor, the first for the D-backs since Corbin Carroll in August 2024 and the team’s 12th monthly award (11th player) all-time. ⚾ .378 AVG | 1.087 OPS | 6 2B | 2 3B | 20 RBI
🔥 Opened the season with a franchise-record 24-game hitting streak, which is also tied for the second-longest single-season streak in club history.
📈 27-game hitting streak dating back to 2025 was the longest ever by a Venezuelan-born player. His historic run places him among elite company in D-backs history, alongside names like Luis Gonzalez, Tony Womack and Paul Goldschmidt.

  • Honoring a legacy that changed the game forever.    Tonight, the Diamondbacks celebrated Jackie Robinson Day by spotlighting local leaders carrying his impact forward, welcoming community leader Virgil “Jackie” Berry for the ceremonial first pitch. As President of the Eastlake Neighborhood Association, the respected community leader’s participation carries special significance given the neighborhood’s connection to Jackie Robinson, who visited Eastlake Park in November 1967 and stayed nearby at The Swindall House, a historic Green Book site on Washington Street. Berry is the owner of Berry Realty, one of the longest-standing Black-owned businesses in Phoenix’s historic Eastlake community.   The Diamondbacks also recognized Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley Youth of the Year honorees and presented a $4,200 donation to support the organization’s Youth of the Year fund.

On Friday at Chase Field, we’ll continue that celebration by recognizing local community leader Virgil “Jackie” Berry, who will throw out the ceremonial first pitch—connecting Robinson’s legacy to the rich history of Phoenix’s Eastlake community. • In honor of Women’s History Month, our D-backs Women Team Player Resource Group invited Executive Vice President & General Manager Mike Hazen to participate in a fireside chat, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the leadership and decision-making that shape the game.   Moderated by Baseball Operations’ Peyton Sumpter, Hazen shared insights on everything from the thought process behind trades to how the baseball operations group operates as a family and the intentional ways the organization welcomes new players into the D-backs clubhouse. His advice for those early in their careers was simple but powerful: work hard and focus on doing the job well.
