    I don't usually write long form content. I like short content – an observation, something I learned, a pattern I keep seeing in the field. That's always felt more natural to me than writing essays. But there are some topics that deserve more than a few paragraphs. Topics where the short version actually does a disservice to the real conversation. "Apollo.io is just a database" is one of those topics. I hear it regularly. And I understand where it comes from. But the gap between that perception and what we've actually built is significant enough that I wanted to lay it out properly – the shift in how reps actually work, why I changed my mind about data, and what it really means to have data, intelligence, and execution in one system.     Every SaaS company right now is racing to bolt an AI layer onto their existing product and call it the future of sales. Most of them are solving the wrong problem.
