Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of visiting Florida Atlantic University (FAU)’s College of Engineering and SeaTech Institute for an engaging day of conversations around engineering innovation, research and future collaboration opportunities in the corrosion and materials protection space. During the visit, I met with Francisco J. Presuel-Moreno, PhD, Associate Chair and Professor, Director of SeaTech-The Institute for Ocean & Systems Engineering, and Director of Graduate Programs; Javad Hashemi, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Research in the College of Engineering and Computer Science; and Pierre-Philippe Beaujean, PhD, Professor, Chair of the Department of Ocean & Mechanical Engineering, and Associate Director of the Center for Acoustics & Vibrations. The innovation, interdisciplinary research and real-world engineering applications happening across FAU’s programs are incredibly impressive, and the discussions highlighted exciting opportunities for future collaboration between industry and academia. Moments like these reinforce the importance of bringing together research institutions, industry expertise and professional organizations to help advance corrosion prevention, infrastructure protection and engineering advancement. A special thank you to Amir Eliezer, AMPP: Association for Materials Protection and Performance Past Board Chair, for helping make the connection and facilitating such a productive visit. I look forward to building on this momentum. #AMPP #FAU #SeaTech #Research #Engineering #NextGeneration
