The AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation was honored to welcome The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Secretary Dr. Valerie Arkoosh, MD, MPH for a tour and roundtable discussion on advancing maternal health — bringing together leaders committed to addressing the real challenges mothers face. Alongside the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, we celebrated the YMCA’s Maternal Wellness Initiative, an impactful program tackling barriers such as cost, childcare, isolation, and limited postpartum support. We’re proud of the work the AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation does to support initiatives like this that meet mothers where they are. Our Regional President, Wendy Morriarty, also highlighted our ongoing commitment, including our Bright Start® maternity program, support for doulas, and 18 community baby showers across Pennsylvania connecting mothers to critical resources. Partnerships like these are essential to improving maternal health outcomes. #MaternalHealth #MaternalWellness #PennsylvaniaHealth

Children thrive when they have supportive adults in their lives. Positive relationships with caregivers, teachers, mentors, and community members can help children overcome challenges and build confidence. Studies show that when children feel safe, valued, and supported, they are more likely to get the healthy body and brain development they need to succeed in school and in life. Supporting children today helps build stronger communities tomorrow. #SafeChildhoods

What an inspiring reminder that the work we do truly matters, especially when we see it through the eyes of the next generation. AmeriHealth Caritas had the pleasure of participating in Take Your Child to Work Day, welcoming our colleagues’ children into our workplace to explore, learn, and imagine what’s possible. From meeting team members to discovering our mission, the day was filled with curiosity, connection, and joy. These moments remind us that our purpose extends beyond our walls. We don’t just build careers here; we model values, spark ambition, and demonstrate the importance of serving our communities with heart. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day special, and to our future leaders for bringing so much energy and perspective into our offices. The future is bright! 💙 #TakeYourChildToWorkDay #FutureLeaders #CommunityCare

When health plans align on the clinical information needed for common prior authorization requests, it helps create a predictable path to care with clear expectations for providers and members. AmeriHealth Caritas is proud to participate with AHIP and Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in this industry effort to establish shared standards that support high-quality, timely, and appropriate services for the communities we serve. Our Legal team recently volunteered with the Share Food Program in Philadelphia as part of AmeriHealth Caritas’ Care Crew. Together, they packed food boxes for older adults and supported a healthier community. As Frances Woodward, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, shared, “It’s important to me and my team that we donate our time to initiatives where we know we’re helping alleviate the impact of a serious problem.” This is our mission in action as we help people get care, stay well, and build healthy communities. #VolunteerRecognitionDay #HealthyCommunities #CareCrewImpact
