Safely and reliably moving oil since 1977

About us

OUR VALUES: MISSION: Move oil in a safe, reliable, and responsible manner for our customers, employees and other stakeholders. VISION: We are the premier midstream operating company, delivering TAPS 100. Alyeska Pipeline Service Company was formed in 1970 by a consortium of oil companies to lead the design and construction of the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS), and then operate and maintain TAPS after its startup. Over the next seven years, Alyeska staff and hundreds of workers, contractor companies, and advocates made construction, engineering, American and Alaska history: On June 20, 1977, TAPS moved its first oil. Today, TAPS has moved more than 18 billion barrels of oil from Alaska’s North Slope to Valdez, all behind the work of Alyeska’s staff and its contractor partners. More than 50 years after Alyeska’s creation and more than 47 years since the iconic pipeline’s startup, Alyeska and its staff continue the legacy of innovation and determination in the face of challenges. They also stay focused on safe, flawless TAPS operations and sustainability, upholding an unrelenting pride in protecting Alaska’s environment, and embodying the hard work that built TAPS and remains uniquely Alaskan. Teamwork, technology, reliability, and integrity aren’t just words at Alyeska: they are organization values. Alyeska is an Alaskan company. Its 800 employees are proud of the pipeline’s history – one enriched by teamwork, innovation and a commitment to safety, reliability, and the integrity of TAPS. The company values its strong ties to Alaskans and to its communities, with a comprehensive philanthropy program and its unique Alaska Native Program, dedicated to creating professional growth opportunities for Alaska Natives. • “The best of the best.” William Brawley's words about his longtime coworker and good friend Hal Eppley to the group gathered in the Pump Station 1 breakroom were heartfelt and moving. The compliments and memories, handshakes and hugs, kept coming for Hal, who was just a few days away from the end of his final hitch and the start of retirement. Everyone was there for a Pump 1 Atigun Awards BBQ, and Hal stood in front of the group receiving the President’s Choice Lifetime Achievement Award. He's certainly worthy of honor. Over 37 years of dedicated service to TAPS, including 25 as a materials coordinator at Pump 1, he’s embodied excellence, teamwork and stewardship. As Hal approached retirement, his contributions, both tangible and cultural, continued inspiring his peers and setting a high standard for anyone who follows. In this Atigun Awards Q&A prior to the event, Hal walked through his career, from some early rollercoaster days to his steady presence at Pump 1 and more: https://lnkd.in/gKydhi5t. Congratulations and all the best in retirement, Hal! #TAPSPride

Repsol is excited about the opportunities created by the award of 42 new exploration blocks in the federal licensing round in Alaska. Repsol (30% working interest, operator) looks forward to commencing work on the newly jointly awarded blocks with our partner, Shell (70% wi).   This reinforces Repsol’s long-term commitment to energy development in the United States and Alaska, further strengthening its position and future upside in the state.   Repsol continues to deliver on its strategic objective to prioritize the development of higher-value barrels in strategic regions where it has competitive advantages. Repsol is on track to achieve first oil at its Pikka development project together with Santos (operator), with Phase 1 of the project expected to produce up to 80,000 gross barrels of oil per day. This is the company’s first development project on the North Slope, and it will deliver the first significant new volumes to Alaska in decades, which will help revitalize the State’s oil industry, create jobs, and stimulate the local economy.   The drilling results from the initial development phase of the Pikka field have provided valuable information that supports the development of Pikka Phase 2, which will contribute to further future growth at Pikka and establish it as a major production hub on the North Slope, near existing infrastructure, with an experienced workforce, and a strong regulatory framework reflecting decades of successful energy development.   Repsol has participated in the drilling of 20 exploration and appraisal wells in Alaska since 2011, including the Mitquq discovery in the Quokka Unit and the historic Stirrup discovery in the Horseshoe Unit, which was the largest conventional onshore oil discovery in the United States in 30 years. In the Quokka Unit, drilling is ongoing to appraise the Mitquq discovery and to evaluate potential development opportunities and strategies in the unit.   In November last year, the company was also the highest bidder for 45 new exploration leases at the statewide lease sale, covering approximately 78,000 gross acres on state lands in Alaska with a 100% working interest.
