With the unofficial start of Summer just a week away, AAA has some intel on just how many travelers will be packing their bags and getting away -- and how they'll be getting away this Memorial Day weekend. According to the official AAA Memorial Day Travel Forecast, total U.S. Travel volume predicts that 45 million leisure travelers will drive, fly, and take other modes of transportation for that first-of-the-season trip. The overwhelming majority, 39.1 million, will travel by auto, undeterred by spiking fuel prices. As you prepare for your getaway, remember to travel safely – buckle up, avoid distractions, and plan ahead.

Today is the last day of Middle Eastern, North African Heritage Month. As part of Character Counts: The People Who Define AAA, we focused on three employees who founded MOSAIC, our MENA Business Resource Group. Hend Hasrouni, Husain Hamam, and Rosy Kareh helped MOSAIC fill an important gap, providing space for a community that is often underrepresented or grouped into broad categories. Thanks to their commitment, MOSAIC now includes more than 250 members, hosting speakers, holding meaningful conversations, and expanding awareness.

We are serious about employee growth and development! Our AAA University puts employees in the driver’s seat when it comes to growing expertise and talent, from technical skills to professional development and earning professional designations. Here’s something else we offer: Tuition Assistance! Through our AAA Accelerate program, employees can earn their bachelor’s degree through University of Massachusetts Global. This year, we reimagined how we show up for our communities and each other and introduced Moments that Move Us – All Year Long, a year-round campaign that kicked off with a focus on our amazing volunteers and their dedication to giving back. From an executive assistant who dedicated 70 hours of volunteer time last year to a branch manager who logged an amazing 225 volunteer hours as a member of the 501st Legion, our people are dedicated to our Members and to their communities. All told, in 2025 alone our employees donated 51,204 hours of volunteer time. Thank you, volunteers, for your awesome community spirit!

Today is Mother’s Day, and we’re giving a shout-out to all the moms, and those in our lives who acted as moms. You’re the best! Take time to honor those moms in our lives who offered guidance, support, wisdom, and the occasional push-start into taking decisive action! To our employees who are moms and grandmothers, we wish you a sincere Happy Mother’s Day!

Last month we celebrated a significant birthday: 100 years of AAA presence in Inglewood, CA! We held a celebration at our Inglewood branch office, with speakers that included Senator Laura Richardson, Inglewood Mayor James Butts, Inglewood City Councilman Alex Padilla, and others. “As we celebrate 100 years in Inglewood, we’re incredibly proud of the strong roots our branch has built in this community,” said our President & CEO. “For a century, the Automobile Club of Southern California Inglewood branch has grown alongside the families and businesses we serve. This milestone reflects not only our history, but the lasting relationships we’ve built with generations of local members. We look forward to continuing to serve and strengthen the Inglewood community for the next 100 years."

Throughout the month, the members of Aspire will share stories, celebrate traditions, and invite participation in community-impact opportunities, like volunteering at local food banks and hosting some popular United Way fundraisers, like fresh-made regional treats for sale.

Our United Way Campaign is underway! For the next 3 weeks we’re focused on volunteer recognition and FUN. How are we doing it? We’re holding employee impact spotlights on our champion volunteers. We’re promoting our year-round volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. And we’re fundraising with a focus on fun, with pop-up shops and opportunity drawings for great items, like travel and discounts. The bottom line: Each moment of giving moves our communities forward. We’re aiming for a $1 million fundraising goal in 2026, and we’re excited to hit the ground running!
