Huge congratulations to American Players Theatre on being named as the recipient of the 2026 Regional Theatre Tony Award! A well-deserved recognition for a company that has spent decades bringing world-class classical theatre to audiences in Wisconsin. Now in its 47th season, APT is known for its stunning outdoor amphitheatre productions, including Shakespeare and other timeless classics. From June through November, they welcome nearly 100,000 guests each year under the sky and stars. Congratulations again on this hard-earned achievement APT, we're so proud to support the work you do.

We’re thrilled to welcome The Ensemble Theatre in Houston, Texas to Spektrix! Influenced by the African American Theatre Movement of the 1960s and 70s, and frustrated by the lack of opportunities for Black actors, George Hawkins established his own company in Houston in 1976, then known as the Black Ensemble Company. Hawkins’ goal was to create a theater that would provide diverse roles for Black artists. Today the Ensemble Theatre continues to expand and create innovative programs to bring African American theatre to a wide range of audiences. Originally opened in 1919 as the Hippodrome Theatre, this beautifully restored 940-seat historic venue now hosts a wide variety of live entertainment in the heart of downtown Marietta, continuing its legacy as a vibrant hub for the community.
