Making Sustainability Happen
About us
SLR is a committed partner in our clients’ sustainability journeys. We help them move from influence to impact, turning intent into purposeful, practical action that delivers real-world results. Guided by our philosophy of Rational Sustainability, we focus on what truly drives long-term value. By viewing decisions through the lenses of risk, reward, and resilience, we help clients act with confidence, balancing environmental and social responsibility with commercial and strategic success. Our purpose - Making Sustainability Happen - means delivering outcomes that are grounded in evidence, shaped by experience, and built to last. SLR has been advising clients for over 30 years at every point of their project life-cycle. Starting as a UK business, we now operate as a global company with more than 4,500 people delivering client solutions across six regions. We have grown both organically and through welcoming other like-minded businesses with a similar One Team culture into the SLR group. We are ably supported by our principal investor, Ares Management, and will continue to build a balanced, successful and growing business. We’ve designed working life at SLR to look a little different. Because we know talented people often feel restricted by the rigid systems, lack of cross-functional collaboration and limited options for growth on offer elsewhere. Our One Team culture promotes meaningful professional and personal growth, our flat management structure provides many opportunities to progress, and our collaborative approach means you’ll get the chance to work on projects you care about and make a real difference. If you’re purpose-driven, self-motivated and keen to make an impact on a global scale, we want to hear from you.

In his recent interview with Sustainability Magazine, our CEO, Bradley Andrews, explains why the real challenge for businesses has moved from setting climate ambitions to proving execution. And to enable that in a world defined by geopolitical shifts and supply chain volatility, he emphasises the need for a sustainability strategy that “can bend without breaking”. The interview also explores the importance of taking a balanced view of sustainability - one that goes beyond a narrow focus on carbon to consider environmental, social and economic factors together. “With work spanning lizards in the Chilean mountains, to groundwater in Western Australia”, he discusses how SLR is helping clients turn complexity into action. Because, as Bradley puts it: “Sustainability doesn’t work in a boardroom… it works in the physical world.” 🔗 Find us on page 106: https://lnkd.in/ef_35PP8 (free to read, sign in required) #ClimateAction #Sustainability #Leadership #MakingSustainabilityHappen

The biggest energy efficiency gains often come from systems that are easy to overlook in day‑to‑day operations. Small, targeted actions in these areas can unlock short‑payback savings, reduce energy risk, and support wider decarbonisation goals, all without disrupting production. Read our latest article from Matt Roman and Mateo de Guadalfajara for more energy-saving solutions and guidance on shifting the conversation from “cost avoidance” to value creation, empowering operations teams to justify efficiency investments. 💡Project Highlight💡 In partnership with UNIDO, SLR supported the development of eight clean hydrogen project funding proposals under the Global Clean Hydrogen Program (GCHP). Led by our Energy Advisory and Sustainable Finance teams, the portfolio was developed to support projects in Algeria, Ecuador, Egypt, Namibia, Nigeria, the Philippines, South Africa, and a global coordination project, all prepared, packaged, and approved in four months. The portfolio secured: ✅US$11.8M in GEF grant funding ✅US$176.3M in confirmed co‑financing ✅4.930 MtCO₂e in expected lifetime emissions reductions This work is a great example of how our Energy Advisory and Sustainable Finance teams can support complex, multi‑country energy transition programmes — from project design to finance and funding approvals. 👉 Read the full case study to learn more about the project and its impact: https://lnkd.in/gVzWwNMq

Empty shelves, delayed deliveries and rising costs are warning signs in the food system. Climate volatility is testing food supply chains at every stage, from production to processing to distribution. Yet many resilience strategies still focus on individual assets, rather than the routes and connections that keep food moving. In our latest article from Liana Downey and Ying Hui Loh, we look at why future‑proofing food supply chains requires a whole‑system view, incorporating the linear assets that connect farms, facilities and consumers. We discuss: 🚜 Why roads, railways and power lines are critical to resilience 📉 How climate‑related disruption is already impacting food security and financial performance 📈 How better climate intelligence can uncover new growth opportunities For leaders across agriculture, logistics, retail and investment, understanding climate risk mile by mile should be considered a strategic imperative. 🔗 Read the full article on our website: https://lnkd.in/eESYUF7Z #FoodSupplyChains #ClimateResilience #Agribusiness #RiskManagement #FoodSecurity #MakingSustainabilityHappen

Batteries have become a critical part of the global energy transition. They play a central role in electrifying mobility and increasing the share of renewables in the power mix. But the rapid expansion in critical mineral extraction, processing, and manufacturing required to meet this demand has not come without environmental and social trade-offs. Knowing that competitive differentiation of battery manufacturers will emerge through low-carbon materials, which decarbonisation levers will most effectively reduce emissions? Read the full article on our website, which details how manufacturers and OEMs can lead the charge in reducing emissions, and what can be improved to turn opaque supply chains into traceable networks : https://lnkd.in/eXzqQq24 Jasper S.
