But looking closer the picture gets more interesting. This is the fourth senior appointment in a month. Langer brings 17 years at Hugo Boss, including eight as CFO and four as CEO. However, Puma's Q1 2026 numbers tell a different story. Sales down 6.3%. North America underperforming. Inventory being cleared through wholesale. This isn't business as usual hiring. This is a brand building a war cabinet. Langer from Hugo Boss. Fricker from Adidas. Carnes from Adidas. Blanc from Nike and ASICS. Puma is pulling proven operators from the biggest names in the game and pointing them at one goal: return to profitable growth and become a top-3 sports brand globally. The talent strategy is clear. The execution is what matters now.
