We are proud to mark 30 years of the Trent 800 powering Cathay Pacific’s Boeing 777-300 classic fleet. This milestone reflects a rich shared history, with the Trent 800 continuing to support Cathay Pacific's regional network, enabling connectivity between people, communities, and commerce. It also highlights the strength of the long-standing relationship between Rolls-Royce and Cathay Pacific, underpinned by more than two million engine flying hours and 400,000 flights powered by the Trent 800 to date. It continues to deliver dependable operations as part of the wider Trent engine family powering Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A330 and A350 fleets. Congratulations to everyone who has played their part in this remarkable achievement over the last three decades.

  • We’re strengthening and modernising our development capabilities at our Power Systems business and investing tens of millions in the construction of three state-of-the-art single-cylinder test benches in Germany. This investment will expand development capacity at the site and lay the technological foundation for future combustion propulsion technologies, from conventional combustion engines to future fuels such as methanol. • We’re working on something exciting: a new hybrid drive system that could make a real difference in how the mining industry moves. Mining is essential to the energy transition, but the haul trucks that keep operations running are also major contributors to emissions. That’s a problem worth solving and one we’re taking on. Our approach pairs the trusted mtu Series 4000 engine with a high‑performance electric drivetrain. The result? A modular, scalable system that can cut fuel use and CO₂ emissions by up to 30%. • On the heels of the successful first flight of the U.S. Navy’s MQ-25A Stingray, Tiffany Bowman discusses how we are powering the future of autonomous aviation. As the sole propulsion provider for the MQ-25A, Rolls-Royce’s AE 3007 engine delivers the safety, reliability and performance needed for carrier-based unmanned operations. With millions of proven flight hours across the AE engine family, we’re proud to support the next generation of military capability for the U.S. Navy. • We’re making strong, tangible progress on the Trent 1000 with over 30% of the TEN fleet now upgraded to XE standard as we roll out our Phase 1 and 2 durability packages. What matters most for our customers is time on wing, and the Trent 1000 XE is delivering. With up to ~3x time on wing improvement for many operations, this is a step-change in durability and value. At the heart of this performance is proven technology. By incorporating High Pressure Turbine (HPT) blades already validated across 2+ million flight hours on the Trent 7000, we are combining maturity with innovation to keep aircraft flying longer, more reliably. The result is simple: more time in the air, less disruption, and stronger economics for our customers. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ePFMqWSg

  • We’ve completed a four-year hydrogen combustion testing programme with easyJet marking an important step in exploring the role of hydrogen in future aviation. The programme culminated in a modified Pearl 15 engine running on 100% hydrogen at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Stennis Space Center, including at maximum take-off thrust and across a full simulated flight cycle. It has given us valuable insight into how hydrogen behaves in a modern aero gas turbine, from combustion through to full system integration. Ground-testing allowed us to validate combustion, fuel and control system technologies, and demonstrate the safe use of hydrogen through design, commissioning, maintenance and testing. These learnings will now support our wider work on fuel agnostic next-generation engine technologies, including UltraFan®, as we continue to improve efficiency and build our understanding of future energy solutions. Thank you to our teams and our partners at easyJet, Tata Consultancy Services, NASA, and the Health and Safety Executive for their contribution to this programme.
