  • Regulators have issued updates over the past weeks, including: ➡️ Cambodia consults on new telecom equipment technical standards: On 23rd April 2026, Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) and Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC) launched a public consultation on a draft Regulation (Prakas) outlining technical standards of telecommunications equipment. ➡️ Djibouti adjusts public administration working hours: On 3rd May 2026, the Presidency of the Republic of Djibouti announced a revision of working hours across the public administration. ➡️ Lebanon launches consultation on Spectrum Refarming Framework: On 30th April 2026, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) opened a public consultation on its draft “Spectrum Refarming: Broadband Context and Framework” document. ➡️ Nigeria formalises lower 6 GHz framework: Following earlier consultations, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has now officially issued and brought into force the final regulatory framework governing the use of the 5925–6425 MHz band in Nigeria. ➡️ Thailand opens consultation on radar and radiocommunication standards: On 1st May 2026, the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) announced a public hearing on draft notifications and technical standards for radar systems and general‑use radiocommunication equipment. ➡️ Vietnam consults on risk classification for products and goods: On 7th May 2026, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) launched a public consultation on a draft Circular establishing a list of products and goods classified as medium and high risk.   • Regulators have issued updates over the past weeks, including: ➡️ India extends deadline for existing ETAs in the lower 6 GHz band: Following the Department of Telecommunication’s (DoT) notification of 6th March 2026 on mandatory actions for existing ETAs covering 5925 – 6425 MHz devices, an additional notice has been issued confirming an extension to the compliance deadline. ➡️ Japan updates radio equipment certification rules for software changes: On 15th April 2026, Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) announced an amendment to its Radio Act certification framework, revising procedures when radio equipment construction designs are modified due to software updates. ➡️ Argentina discontinues select technical services, including RF testing: Effective 16th April 2026, the Argentine Government, through the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI), has discontinued several technical services, including local RF testing. ➡️ Indonesia finalises mandatory SAR requirements for mobile devices: Following KPC’s 4th March 2026 regulatory update on the draft SAR regulation, Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (KOMDIGI) has officially issued Ministerial Decree No. 197/2026, establishing final SAR limits for mobile telecommunication devices and tablet computers. ➡️ Cambodia opens consultation on new Type Approval framework: On 23rd April 2026, Cambodia’s Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) and the Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC) launched a public consultation on a draft regulatory framework covering Type Approval and conformity assessment for telecommunications equipment. ➡️ Philippines mandates strict energy conservation across government agencies: On 6th March 2026, Memorandum Circular No. 114 was issued, taking immediate effect and requiring all government bodies including the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to implement stringent energy‑saving measures.   • Regulators have issued updates over the past weeks, including: ➡️ Singapore and Japan sign MoC on IoT cybersecurity: On 18th March 2026, Singapore’s Cyber Security Agency (CSA) and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the mutual recognition of Internet‑of‑Things (IoT) cybersecurity schemes. ➡️ Ukraine proposes updates to RoHS regulation: On 31st March 2026, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers published a draft Government Resolution proposing amendments to the Technical Regulation on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in electrical and electronic equipment. ➡️ Belize opens consultation on National Spectrum Allocation Plan 2026: On 21st March 2026, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) launched a public consultation on the proposed Belize National Spectrum Allocation Plan 2026, including an updated National Frequency Allocation Table (NFAT). ➡️ Ecuador approves major update to its National Frequency Plan: On 27th March 2026, ARCOTEL issued Resolution No. 03‑02SO‑ARCOTEL‑2026, approving a comprehensive update to the National Frequency Plan (PNF), Ecuador’s core regulatory framework for radiofrequency spectrum allocation, management, and use. ➡️ Eswatini to strictly enforce Type Approval requirements: ESCCOM has issued General Notice No. 4/2026 announcing stricter enforcement of existing Type Approval requirements for electronic communications equipment, effective from 13th April 2026. ➡️ Kenya mandates samples for all wireless device Type Approval applications: Following the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) revised policy removing SRD exemptions and requiring formal Type Approval for all wireless devices, the Authority has confirmed to KPC that sample submission is now mandatory for all Type Approval applications. ➡️ Algeria provides further clarification on new equipment approval decree: Following KPC’s 4th March 2026 update on Executive Decree No. 26‑97 governing the approval of electronic communications equipment, additional information has been received from Algeria’s regulator, ARPCE, providing further insight into the new requirements. ➡️ Serbia to align radio equipment rules with the EU RED from 2027: Kiwa Product Compliance reminds manufacturers that, effective 1st January 2027, Serbia will align its regulatory framework for radio equipment with the EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED). ➡️ Hong Kong updates technical specifications and frequency allocations: In March 2026, OFCA released updated versions of two Technical Specifications, followed by the publication of a new edition of the Table of Frequency Allocation in April 2026.
