This Week in Process Excellence: 10 predictions for scaling agentic AI in the enterprise 🤖📊 As agentic AI moves beyond isolated pilots to enterprise-wide deployment, a critical question is emerging: do organizations truly understand how to use it safely, at scale, and under appropriate governance? This is no longer about experimentation or copilots boosting individual productivity. Agentic AI is evolving into a system-level capability able to execute tasks autonomously, operate within defined policy boundaries, and take ownership of increasingly complex workflows. That shift introduces new challenges around oversight, accountability, and operational design. In our latest infographic, we outline 10 bold predictions for how agentic AI will mature into a governed, auditable, enterprise-grade capability, and what organizations must do to prepare. From rethinking operating models to redefining accountability and equipping leadership teams, the path forward requires a more structured, risk-aware approach to AI adoption. 💡 Here’s what else caught our attention on PEX Network this week: 🧭 How should a transformation team be anchored? 🧠 The AI-augmented leader: Why leadership is not replaced, but rewritten 🔗 5 integration challenges slowing transformation, and how to overcome them 👉 Stay ahead of agentic AI and transformation trends: subscribe to the PEX Network newsletter #ProcessExcellence #AgenticAI #AI #DigitalTransformation #Automation #OperationalExcellence #Leadership #Governance #EnterpriseAI #PEXNetwork #FutureOfWork

'There's no sense in technology without people'. Crazy to think that the 2026 Business Transformation World Summit (https://lnkd.in/erSdfm_G) was already 3 months ago. As I re-watch our post-event show reel, this quote captures our mission perfectly. In a world where every Transformation is, to some extent, an AI Transformation, our job is to help change leaders to drive adoption and execution for their change programmes, balancing the enormous potential of technology with the power of people. Across an epic 2026 event, we hosted: ⭐ 5 themed summits ⭐ 14 deep-dive workshops ⭐5 inspirational keynotes ⭐ 15 interactive discussion groups ⭐80+ cutting-edge topics Our post-show report captures all the key outcomes: https://lnkd.in/eqtBYyU4 Cathy Gu and Amy Garrod are already hard at work on the 2027 programme - of course with support from Lead Partner Nellie Wartoft and her team at Tigerhall. I’ve been reading the latest PEX Network (Process Excellence Network) report on AI-driven optimization, and it confirmed a gut feeling I’ve had: We’re moving past the "shiny object" phase and into some seriously heavy lifting. The bits that really jumped out at me: 1. Continuous over Snapshot: We're moving away from those "one-and-done" process audits. With AI, we’re looking at real-time monitoring that catches a bottleneck before it even happens. 2. The "Agentic" Shift: It’s no longer just about asking a chatbot for a summary. It’s about building AI agents that can actually navigate multi-step workflows autonomously. 3. The Governance Reality Check: The report makes it clear—scaling AI usually fails not because the tech is bad, but because the underlying processes were never redesigned for an AI-first world. I’m really enjoying the challenge of "skill-stacking" right now—leaning into the intersection of AI orchestration and traditional OpEx. #ProcessExcellence #ArtificialIntelligence #ContinuousImprovement #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfWork

🏗️ Where should a transformation team sit? It’s a common question, and often the wrong one. In her latest article, Sudeshna Banerjee challenges the assumption that anchoring a transformation management office (TMO) is just about org structure. 📍 The reporting line doesn’t just define placement, it shapes priorities and influence ⚙️ It determines how transformation is executed across complex, matrixed organizations 🚧 It can also limit what the TMO is able to deliver After decades of leading global transformation programs, Sudeshna highlights that the real issue isn’t where the TMO sits, but how that positioning impacts outcomes, authority, and effectiveness. For transformation leaders, this is a critical design decision that often gets underestimated. 👉 Read the full article on PEX Network https://lnkd.in/ePJAzVJv #BusinessTransformation #TMO #Leadership #OperatingModel #OPEX #DigitalTransformation #PEXNetwork

In about one-and-a-half weeks' time (on April 14, to be precise), I will be a speaker at the latest PEX Network event, “All Access: Process Intelligence and Process Mining.” I will be part of a roundtable conversation with the wonderful Anna Alechno and Chloe Chappell :-) We will discuss how to actually achieve process intelligence and what we've learned over the last couple of years now that tools like Process Mining are about to become mainstream. Please head over to https://lnkd.in/eM_HKJF2 and register your seat! PS: On another note, our little survey capturing your feedback on what we (the What's Your Baseline? Expert Network) should produce ends this weekend. Please head over to https://lnkd.in/edBcinau and give us your thoughts. I will share the results with everyone who participated.
