This morning, Nscale hosted its largest Women at Nscale event, bringing together team members across the business for an open discussion on leadership, growth, and the future of tech. Led by four members of our senior leadership team, Nidhi Chappell; Alice Takhtajan; Phoebee Gahan; and Lauren R Hurwitz, one moment that stayed with us: Phoebee recalled a day earlier in her career when she was the only woman in a 40-person leadership offsite from 7:30am to 10pm. At the end of the night, a colleague tapped her on the shoulder and asked if she'd noticed there were no other women in attendance. She told him that even if he hadn’t, she’d been acutely aware since the moment she walked in. She left that day with a commitment: the next offsite would have other women in the room. Thank you to those who attended, events like this are integral to how Nscale is building its culture intentionally.

Europe doesn't have to choose between renting AI compute from outside the continent, or building capacity in every member state. There's a third way — and the geography has already decided where it starts. In an op-ed in Expresso, Nscale’s President of EMEA Philippe Sachs and Managing Director in Portugal Maria Saraiva, argue why the hub-and-spoke model is the architecture Europe actually needs, and why Sines, Portugal is one of its most important hubs. The logic is simple: centralize efficiency, decentralize control. The EU is beginning to get this right: its AI Gigafactory tender and EuroHPC network sketch the outline of exactly this architecture. Nscale has secured $790 million in committed financing to support the continued development of its AI data center in Narvik, Norway. This data center project is the largest AI infrastructure investment in Norway. The financing is backed by leading Nordic and international banks and sovereign support from ABN AMRO Bank N.V., DNB, Eksfin - Export Finance Norway, Nordea, and SEB.
