In this recent investigation, a severely damaged vehicle was documented using the Leica RTC360 laser scanner and processed in Leica Cyclone REGISTER 360 PLUS. The goal was to create a precise digital twin of the wrecked vehicle, preserving its current condition as a permanent record. But the model does more than archive the scene. By analysing the captured geometry, investigators can later examine deformation patterns and determine the main direction of impact, a critical factor in reconstructing how the accident occurred. With high-speed reality capture and accurate point cloud registration, complex scenes like this can be documented in minutes and explored in full 3D afterwards, long after the physical evidence is gone. Thank you, David, for providing these images from the field. Sometimes the smallest detail can reveal the biggest answers. Learn more about RTC360: https://hxgn.biz/48E4t4M

What moment truly changed how paving is done? For many, it was the move from manual stringlines to 3D machine control. In 1996, Leica Geosystems carried out the first practical trials of 3D stringless paving — marking the beginning of a new digital era. This wasn't just a product launch. It was a shift in how an entire industry operates. https://lnkd.in/eKMwUhd6 #PavingInnovation #LeicaGeosystems #MachineControl

Climate pressure on Alpine snowfall is real. Which means efficiency is no longer a nice-to-have; it's an operational imperative. Les Orres achieved ~20% optimisation of snow resources across the resort with Leica iCON Alpine. That's fewer cannon-hours, less energy, and a snowpack that lasts longer into the season. "This technology enables more sustainable snow management. Digital tools are essential for managing the snowpack." – Tommy Jung, Les Orres See the full story 👉 https://lnkd.in/e3QSPUPT
