Satellite QKD is rapidly evolving from research projects into the foundations of future quantum communications infrastructure. To keep progressing at pace, the industry needs alignment on what wavelength strategy these networks should adopt. At KETS, we’re focused on getting chip-based QKD deployed at scale. Our work with Nokia is a key part of that. Together, we’re making it easy to demonstrate quantum-safe networking globally through Nokia’s ‘flying kit’, a portable, end-to-end showcase of how QKD integrates into live telecom infrastructure as a network feature.   It’s lovely to see news of this progress reaching a wide audience. At the end of 2025, we delivered our latest QKD v2.0 unit to Nokia and it’s now ready to fly. We’re partnering with Nokia to lead the next era of scalable, commercial QKD, and as part of this collaboration, we’re integrating our technology into Nokia’s ‘flying kit’. The elite ‘flying kit’ combines Nokia optical networking equipment and KETS’ chip-based QKD modules in a complete quantum-safe stack. These systems travel globally to demonstrate end-to-end quantum-secure networking to Tier-1 operators and government stakeholders, showcasing how quantum-safe hardware can be integrated within existing infrastructure. It’s an important step in translating capability into deployment, and we’re looking forward to expanding the reach of these solutions through our continued partnership with Nokia.
