Our first quarter has at Boxlight + Jimmy's Jobs of the Future has been pretty extraordinary. Our revenues are up about 200% on the same time period from last year. Yes, it is great, I feel very energised but it is also quite busy and stressful, and we really need to build the engine whilst the car is going quicker. We need to build out our proper growth and commercial team, we are creating a new type of media company, I am very open to the experience that people bring to the table on this. For the right individual this will be a quantum leap opportunity for their career. We are also looking for video editor, although that rather simplifies the job, you need to understand cultural context and what, why and when it will work best. You will have seen the trending pieces around 'clipping economy'. Links to the Job Ads below, and presence and understanding of linkedin is a one of the fundamental requirements. Come and build with Sunny Winter and I at the intersection of media, careers, business, policy, enterprise and talent #interviews #talent #video #commercial #growth

✍️ what do you think of the Apprentice? I’ll admit it I watched it and I think it’s great for social mobility and has created more jobs than we think. I was blown away to learn that winning businesses have gone on to make more than half a billion in sales Yes it’s not Deepmind or Tesla, but it’s good people have a cracking at entrepreneurship. The show shows how ludicrously hard it is to start and run a business Any entrepreneur looks back at the early days and whinces and decisions (and branding ideas!) I’ve written for the The i Paper about why we need to learn to love the Apprentice if we are to tackle Britains unemployment crisis. 🙏to Katy Searle for the commission #apprentice #TV #entrepreneurship #LordSugar 👋 I’m Jimmy McLoughlin OBE j write and podcast about the future of work - follow me and Jimmy's Jobs of the Future if you find that interesting. 🙏

Congratulations to Karishma Vijay - the winner of the Apprentice 👏 👏 You cannot help but be moved by her story in the last couple of weeks. We love to hate the Apprentice - but arguably it’s done more for jobs and social mobility than any government backed scheme I’ve written in The i Paper today about why the show whilst imperfect in many ways is arguably more relevant than it’s ever been. 💥 Snapchat to cut 1,000 jobs (16% of their workforce!) That leaves them with roughly ~5,000 employees globally. The reason? AI. Snap Inc. CEO Evan Spiegel called it a “crucible moment.” Translation: 👉 The old org chart doesn’t work anymore. Here’s what’s actually happening: • AI is replacing repetitive, mid-layer work • Teams are shrinking into “small squads” with higher output • Companies are cutting costs to fund multi-million AI bets • The definition of “productive employee” is being rewritten in real time And it’s not just Snap. Meta Block Pinterest All trimming this year alone The bigger shift is that Jobs are not disappearing completely. But: ❌ Clearly defined roles ❌ Safe middle layers ❌ “I just do this one thing” careers They’re going, and fast. The winners? People who can: • Combine skills (not just specialise) • Work alongside AI, not compete with it • Operate in small, fast teams • Ship work, not just talk about it Jack Dorsey put it bluntly: AI “fundamentally changes what it means to build a company.” He is changing it so everyone reports to him, it is a completely new type of leadership that we are netering into. We’re not in a jobs recession. We’re in a jobs rewrite. And most people haven’t realised the script has changed. #FutureOfWork #AI #Jobs #Tech #Leadership #Careers #Productivity #Economy 👋 I am Jimmy McLoughlin OBE i write and podcast about the future of our economy through the prism of jobs, if you find that interesting follow me and Jimmy's Jobs of the Future 🙏

  • 📝 🤖 How 1 Word Could Change the Way You Use AI Forever When you give AI a prompt, changing a single word could radically change the answer. And very often, we give them wrong premises and biases without even noticing. For example, if you ask ChatGPT, "Should I invest in cryptocurrency?", the answer is "Maybe yes, maybe no". But if you change the prompt to "I'm 40 years old, working in the X industry. I have a family with 2 kids. Should I invest in cryptocurrency?", the answer will be completely different. Jamie Bartlett returns to Jimmy's Jobs of the Future this week to discuss all these and his new book How to Talk to AI - a skill that everyone needs but still overlooks. This is an episode with practical tips and use cases that you can apply straight away. Full episode in the comments. 👉 Follow Jimmy's Jobs of the Future, hosted by Jimmy McLoughlin OBE for insights no one tells you about the future of work and your career. #productivity #artificialintelligence #podcast #futureofwork #AIprompts

We trust strangers on the internet more than ever before - kind of weird right? Particularly when trust in institutions has been collapsing. That tension is shaping the future of work, media, and the economy. So I’m delighted to be sitting down with the second most influential Jimmy on the internet - Jimmy Wales - the founder of Wikipedia 😁 A platform built on what seemed like a nuts idea in the early 2000s. At a time when: AI is generating content at scale Misinformation is accelerating “Truth” is increasingly contested His work - and his thinking on trust - feels more relevant than ever. 🟡 Authenticity 🟡 Logic 🟡 Empathy So - over to you: If you could ask him one question about: Trust in the age of AI The future of knowledge Or what actually makes people believe something What would it be? Drop your questions below 👇 #FutureOfWork #AI #Trust #Leadership #Wikipedia #Media #KnowledgeEconomy #Podcast #Entrepreneurship 👋 I am Jimmy McLoughlin OBE I write and podcast about the future of our economy through the prism of jobs - follow me and Jimmy's Jobs of the Future if that interests you 🙏

Jamie Bartlett has written about internet trends and subcultures for 20 years. He is therefore often ahead of the curve. Most people talk about the internet like it’s one thing. But It is thousands of subcultures, all evolving at different speeds, with their own rules, status games, and belief systems. The most interesting shifts in society rarely start in the mainstream. They start in the corners. Forums. Discord servers. Anonymous accounts. Niche communities. Places most businesses, policymakers - and frankly most media - rarely look there, they are dismissed as the fruitcakes and the loons. But it is now where: New political movements form New ways of making money emerge New identities are shaped If you want to understand the future of work, politics, or culture - you have to understand these subcultures first. Jamie is also behind some of the biggest podcasts the UK has seen, such as the Cryptoqueen - he is one ofthe most talented and interesting people i know. This was a brilliant episode with Jamie Bartlett - he has a book out on how to talk to AI which we did a whole separate episode on. #FutureOfWork #InternetCulture #Subcultures #AI #Media #GenZ #podcasts 👋 My name is Jimmy McLoughlin OBE I write and podcast about the future of our economy through the prism of jobs, if you find that interesting please follow me and Jimmy's Jobs of the Future 🙏
