Growth Hub is IMI’s engine for innovation, helping teams move faster from customer challenge to scalable solution by bringing together engineering, commercial, operations and data expertise across the business. Recently, teams from across IMI came together at our new site in California to explore how the Growth Hub is accelerating market-led innovation across the megatrends shaping our world and driving IMI’s growth: Energy, Automation and Healthcare. With 13 teams representing 15 countries, the event demonstrated how IMI is embedding a more agile and disciplined approach to innovation, focused on solving real customer problems, testing solutions early and scaling what works. A key theme throughout the week was maintaining a growth mindset: staying curious, challenging assumptions and learning quickly. In fast-changing industries, the ability to adapt at pace and focus investment where it creates the greatest impact is increasingly important. As IMI continues embedding the Growth Hub approach across the business, the focus remains clear: solving customer problems faster and scaling the solutions that create long-term value https://lnkd.in/e5Fx9HcH

Global demand for severe service flow control is growing - and IMI’s new Process Automation facility in Lake Forest, California will enable us to meet it. Purpose-built and home to over 200 people across engineering, manufacturing, project management, quality assurance and R&D, the site brings together the full breadth of IMI's Southern California operations. Previously based in Rancho Santa Margarita, the team have three decades of experience engineering severe service flow control solutions for industries where the margin for error is zero, including oil and gas, fossil and nuclear power generation. This new site will give us further infrastructure to meet Energy customers’ demand for high-performance components, aligning with and supporting one of IMI's three long-term growth megatrends. The site is also one of IMI's most sustainable. Rooftop and parking lot solar will cover around 80 to 90% of electrical consumption, heating is fully electric and EV charging is in place from opening. Congratulations to the SoCal team! The challenge: An ageing, obsolete hydraulic power unit at Kuwait’s AZ Zour South power plant was driving up maintenance costs and risk. With long spare‑part lead times and limited support, a critical seawater intake valve needed a fast, reliable fix. The solution: IMI partnered with the plant’s engineers to upgrade the entire HPU—modernising a 30‑year‑old system with standard components, improved energy efficiency, built‑in redundancy and full DCS integration, delivered as a turnkey, plug‑and‑play package. The benefits: Completed within two months, the upgrade cut lead times, improved reliability and safety, and reduced lifecycle costs—while laying the foundations for future digitalisation. Read the full case study to see how a targeted upgrade delivered rapid, long‑term value: https://lnkd.in/epvZvAVU
