We are proud to share that our CEO Leslie Owusu took first place at the IBJJF European Master Champion 2026 in Barcelona last week, his third European and first black belt championship.    Achievements like this are never just about the day itself. They’re built on months (and years) of consistent work, setbacks, small improvements, and learning to stay focused when progress isn’t always visible.    Leslie said "JiuJitsu has taught me a lot about discipline, patience, and staying composed under pressure, lessons that carry into every area of my work and life. It’s a reminder that results are often the outcome of what you do consistently, not occasionally."   A valuable lesson for us all! and HUGE CONGRATULATIONS PROFESSOR Leslie! 

In England, 95% of Black adults and 80% of Asian adults do not swim. These numbers reflect long-standing barriers around access, affordability, representation, and cultural safety not simply personal preference. When spaces don’t feel designed with you in mind, participation drops, and when participation drops, so do opportunities for wellbeing, confidence, and connection. Mind Under Water by Several Seats CIC was created to address that gap, offering women-only, culturally aware sessions where women of colour can reconnect with their bodies and support their mental wellbeing in a safe, supportive environment.
