So close! Studio MULTI has been awarded Runner-Up in the international competition for the new temporary Florenc Bus Terminal in Prague from a pool of 100 entries.   Our proposal explored how temporary infrastructure can still create civic identity, architectural character and long-term value.   Set beside Prague’s historic Negrelli Viaduct, our design took inspiration from Florenc’s industrial heritage. A reusable demountable steel superstructure using ES Global’s concert staging system shelters a timber building-within-a-building within. The terminal was conceived as a flexible kit-of-parts: designed for assembly, disassembly, adaptation and future reuse beyond the life of the site itself. Congratulations to Upstructure Architects on winning First Place, and to Abrama Architekti on Third Place. Thank you to Penta Real Estate and INSPIRELI AWARDS for organising the competition, and to our outstanding collaborators Mott MacDonald and ES Global for their expertise throughout the process.   Team: Architecture: Studio Multi Engineering: Mott MacDonald Temporary Structures: ES Global Petr Kalab Nicola Rutt Lizzie Grinter Nick Ling Andy Prescott Olly Watts

  • The way people experience live entertainment is changing fast. Shifting audience behaviours, spending patterns and expectations are redefining: ·   Where live entertainment happens ·   What a “venue” even is? ·   Who it’s built for? Is there an ideal location for arenas and sports venues anymore? At UKREiiF our panel will explore: ·   Using underutilised and meanwhile spaces ·   Designing venues for flexibility and longevity ·   How culture can activate places before and after peak demand This is about future-proofing cities; not just filling seats. 📍 Join the conversation with Amy Casterton, Jett Glozier, Lenz C Balan and Mark Donnelly at UKREiiF | London Pavilion | Tuesday 19 May | 12:00 #FutureCities #LiveExperience #UrbanInnovation #Placemaking

Where does value really lie in live entertainment? - Is it ticket sales? - Land uplift? - Footfall? - Or long‑term place identity? At UKREiiF, our session will dig into how investors, local government and communities can unlock shared value from live entertainment infrastructure and whether there are more creative, collaborative models than the ones cities rely on today. From innovative funding structures to cultural strategies that deliver commercial resilience, we’ll ask: - What should councils actually invest in? - How do venues drive ROI beyond event night? - How can public‑private partnerships work harder for everyone? Join us to explore how culture-led development can deliver measurable, investable outcomes. 📍 London Pavilion | 🗓 19 May | 12:00 #UKREiiF #InvestmentStrategy #CulturalInfrastructure #PublicPrivatePartnerships

This week, we sat down with Patrick Ledwith, Managing Director of North America for ES Global. He started as a stagehand at 17, came up through rigging, carpentry, stage management, and production management, and helped build some of the biggest tours of the last 40 years. What stood out to us was how little ego he puts on any of it. Even at that level, Patrick keeps bringing it back to the same things: work ethic, calm, prep, and making the experience better for the fans. #55 Patrick Ledwith | Building Stadium Tours for U2, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Beyonce is LIVE NOW wherever you get your podcasts or watch on YouTube!
