Our International Veterinary Graduate Programme has been really busy in the past few weeks. We hosted a welcome event for our new graduate intake in Sweden, and it was great to meet so many enthusiastic new vets representing clinics in 13 different countries! 👋 In Italy, one of our graduate groups attended training on emergency care, cardiology and self-leadership at the MVH Training Centre. Group sessions enable our graduates to learn together, but also help them develop networks and friendships that will continue throughout their careers. 📈 A big thank you to the team who arranged and supported these events – particularly our BluePearl Pet Hospital colleagues Adam Lancaster and Lisa Powell for their training and leadership. We can't wait to see all our graduates progressing in their skills and personal development at AniCura! #AniCura #VeterinaryMedicine #Graduates #MVHTrainingCentre

We are really proud of Pablo Agüera Espejo and Jose Luis Fontalba Navas from AniCura Vetsia Hospital Veterinario, whose study has been published in the prestigious ‘Journal of Small Animal Practice’! Their paper, 'Fulkerson‐based oblique novel technique (FONT) to treat concurrent cranial cruciate ligament disease and medial patellar luxation in the dog', concludes that the FONT is promising, but surgical cutting guides could improve the accuracy and repeatability of the procedure. Thank you to Pablo and Jose Luis for their hard work, and dedication to improving the outcomes for so many patients.👏 The study is available at: https://lnkd.in/e8VsXnqK. #VeterinaryScience #UnitedInCare #AniCura

Veterinary care is not just about treating illness—it's about preventing disease and promoting long-term well-being. And nutrition is one of the most powerful tools we have. On World Obesity Day, it’s crucial to highlight that obesity in pets is rising steadily. The veterinary healthcare team is the most trusted source of nutritional advice— and we must ensure that this advice is consistently and clearly delivered during consultations and should place great emphasis on obesity prevention, including: Identifying “at-risk” individuals before obesity develops. Proactively monitoring these individuals for life. Promoting the maintenance of a healthy weight and lifestyle. Let’s make nutrition a non-negotiable part of every veterinary visit. Because every conversation counts when it comes to keeping pets healthy for life. #MarsPetcare #ABetterWorldForPets #AniCura #PartnersInExceptionalVeterinaryCare

Patient Safety is at the core of our business and essential to delivering high-quality, sustainable veterinary care. One of the most impactful ways we protect our patients is through our Infection Prevention and Control Programme, which helps reduce the transmission of microorganisms in clinical settings. If we look at human healthcare, the data is compelling: at least 20% of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are preventable, and some studies, like Harbarth et al. (2003), suggest that up to 70% can be avoided through simple, effective measures. One of the most powerful examples? Hand hygiene. Our Commitment at AniCura is to prevent surgical site infections by implementing rigorous protocols, including: - Sterile surgical environments and equipment - Pre- and post-operative care routines - Ongoing staff training and audits - Hand hygiene campaigns and compliance tracking All of this contributes to a more sustainable veterinary practice, better patient health outcomes, less suffering for pets, happier pet owners and a safer work environment. #MarsPetcare #ABetterWorldForPets #AniCura #PartnersInExceptionalVeterinaryCare

Across many AniCura hospitals, several veterinary residents are training in diverse disciplines—from surgery and internal medicine to oncology, dermatology, and neurology. Coming from different countries, bringing diverse perspectives and a shared commitment to advancing veterinary care, residents arrive with curiosity, and they will leave with expertise. We’re proud of our residents—and of the AniCura mentors who continuously guide them. Veterinary residents raise the standard of care, bringing fresh evidence, new questions, and collaborative case discussions that challenge and inspire our teams. They drive innovation, contributing to research projects that shape protocols, improve quality, and move the veterinary health field forward. They strengthen our mentorship culture, where teaching sharpens the skills of our specialists and diplomates and spreads expertise across disciplines. Together, we are shaping the future of veterinary speciality care at AniCura. #MarsPetcare #ABetterWorldForPets #AniCura #PartnersInExceptionalVeterinaryCare

During Pet Dental Health Month, we're celebrating the dentistry training available to our clinicians at the Mars Veterinary Health Training Centre in Italy 🪥 The Training Centre regularly hosts comprehensive dental courses where our Associates can develop their theoretical knowledge alongside practical training in the wet lab. Topics range from oral examinations to scaling and polishing, extraction techniques, and radiology. Thank you to our wonderful vets Emma Bellei, Giulia Almanza, Arianna Mella and Luisa Boldrin for leading so much of this training. These courses help our teams to provide high-quality dental evaluation, diagnosis and treatment, while supporting their professional development. We’re also grateful to the dedicated Training Centre team who ensure these sessions run smoothly: Francesco Vaccaro, Jessica Bagnato, Luigi Cavarretta and Stefania Cristofaletti👏 #veterinarydentistry #mvhtrainingcentre #proudlyanicura #petdentalhealthmonth #unitedincare

Ultrasound is transforming how we care for pets, offering a non-invasive and painless way to see inside the body and make informed decisions. Ultrasound is valuable for pets because it's safe and gentle: No needles, no radiation—just sound waves that create real-time images of pets’ internal organs; it is also accurate and immediate, as it helps detect heart conditions, abdominal issues, pregnancies, and more, often before symptoms become serious. Our diagnostic imaging services at @AniCura are designed to support referring veterinarians with expert ultrasound capabilities, offering collaborative insights and detailed imaging to help guide treatment plans and ensure the best outcomes for every patient.
