It’s the people who give places meaning. That’s the thinking behind Voices of the Fjords. At Fjord Norway, we wanted to create a new storytelling concept focused on people with a special connection to this region - individuals inspired by the landscapes around them and the places they call home. The first three stories are now live on our Mynewsdesk platform: • Nikita Miller — comedian and author who traded life in Germany for the fjords of Ryfylke. • Roald Aga Haug — the mayor of Ullensvang, known for marrying couples on Trolltunga high above the Hardangerfjord. • Frode Goa — surfer, skater and founder of Kant® in Stavanger’s iconic Øvre Holmegate. New episodes will be published every two weeks. The concept is developed together with destination partners across the region, contributing local stories, people and perspectives - helping us present Fjord Norway through authentic voices and experiences. More voices to come. #FjordNorway #VisitHardangerfjord #VisitRyfylke #RegionStavanger #VoicesOfTheFjords #VisitNorway #DestinationMarketing

We also still have summer availability, particularly in lesser-known destinations across the region — ready to be explored and packaged. Meet us at the VisitNorway stand, Hall 18. Fjord Norway la ut dette på nytt
Exploring Norway’s wool industry 🐑 In August, a group of experts visited Norway to learn more about the country’s wool industry, with stops at several Norwegian brands including Dale of Norway, Oleana Knitwear, Woodling, We Norwegians, Devold of Norway and O.A.Devold. Starting in Bergen, then moving through Stavanger and ending in Oslo, they spent time in the factories, meeting the people behind the products and learning how local history and traditions shape the way wool is made today. The trip offered a hands-on perspective on Norwegian craftsmanship, showcasing the skill of local makers and the thoughtful design that defines contemporary wool production in Norway 🧶 In Oslo, the group also visited Nasjonalmuseet for kunst, arkitektur og design to see the exhibition “New Nordic. Cuisine, Aesthetics and Place”, which explores Nordic culinary traditions, merged with other contemporary cultural trends. You can catch a version of it at the National Nordic Museum in Seattle starting November 7, 2025! They also joined a guided tour of Room 18: "A Continuous Thread”, diving into the story of how Norwegian hand-knitting has developed through the years. The Oslo visit wrapped up with a stop at Nasjonalbiblioteket | The National Library of Norway and International Library of Fashion Research, adding another layer of cultural context to their visit. Thank you to our collaborating partners The Federation of Norwegian Industries, Visit Norway, VisitOSLO, Fjord Norway, Innovation Norway and Inside Norway!
