Energy security concerns are reshaping priorities. Here's what 1,000+ energy leaders are saying about it. DNV’s Energy Industry Insights report reveals how energy security is rising up the agenda, and how it’s accelerating shifts already underway: • Investing in grid capacity and modernization is the top energy security priority • Increasing renewable generation and expanding energy storage and battery capacity come next • Just 7% believe the energy transition should slow down to strengthen energy security For most leaders, a cleaner, more electrified system is seen as the most resilient foundation for long-term energy security. At the same time, many stress that oil and gas remain critical over the next decade, and that a diversified energy mix is essential to balance security, affordability, and decarbonization in the near term. What does that mean for investment decisions, policy, and infrastructure planning in 2026? The full findings are in DNV's Energy Industry Insights report: https://lnkd.in/eAcFAPeq

AI is accelerating across every sector, yet 95% of industrial AI pilots fail to scale safely. Trust in AI is no longer optional; it’s essential for deploying AI in high‑risk and safety‑critical settings. Earlier this month in San Francisco, DNV Ventures brought together the ecosystem of leading AI investors, entrepreneurs, experts and scientists to present an in-depth analysis of the AI Assurance Investment Landscape as well as launch DNVs 2026 Position Paper, “Assurance of AI‑Enabled Systems” and discuss the future of the AI Assurance industry. A key insight is that AI trust is going from interesting to important. Failures aren’t simple glitches - they often stem from hidden risks, unclear responsibilities, or complex interactions between AI, people, and environments. Proven methods already exist to assure these systems through continuous, adaptive, evidence‑based approaches. As an investor, this marks an opportunity to back the companies building the AI trust solutions the industry is dependent on. DNV Ventures is among the first global investors backing startups focused on AI trust. We believe AI can only scale safely when it’s trusted - and we’re committed to helping protect society as AI becomes embedded in critical systems. The reverberations from the war in the Middle East will be felt for months to come in energy markets, and in some instances, years. In this short article we explore the implications of the events unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz and the wider Gulf region for the long-term global energy transition. The sheer scale of the energy shock to oil and gas supply over the last month is almost certainly going to work in the long-term favour of renewables, batteries, and nuclear. DNV is proud to award an industrial cyber security certification to Hyosung Heavy Industries Worldwide, a South Korean heavy industries company specializing in power transmission and distribution solutions, transformers, construction, and renewable energy technologies. The certification demonstrates compliance to IEC 62443-4-1 which evaluates an organization’s technological capability to respond to various security threats, including cyberattacks, data breaches, and system failures. Cyberattack threats to power grids are directly linked to national security, prompting countries to strengthen security regulations for grid infrastructure. “DNV’s global verification expertise and independence will provide a solid foundation for Hyosung Heavy Industries’ technological innovation to be trusted in the international market,” said Percy Lakdawalla, DNV Asia-Pacific Regional Manager.
