Senior engineer Shipbuilding

In the role of the senior engineer shipbuilding, you work within clear procedures and standards, while having the freedom to contribute your own expertise; you collaborate with various disciplines and manage specialized subcontractors, working in an enthusiastic engineering team that is responsible for the complete basic and detail engineering package.

The responsibilities of the senior engineer shipbuilding,

• Developing designs, specifications, and detailed & workshop drawings;
• Registering and archiving designs, drawings, and project data;
• Creating structural designs and integrating steel structures & outfitting;
• Formulating construction plans & deck layouts;
• Performing calculations for weight, stability, and structures;
• Conducting feasibility studies and risk analyses for the basic design;
• Preparing purchase lists and technical specifications for procurement;
• Providing support during inspections and approval processes by clients, class, and authorities;
• Coordinating outsourced work with subcontractors.

The senior engineer shipbuilding brings,

• A bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Maritime Engineering;
• At least 5 years of experience in the same or a similar role;
• Experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, and Nupas-Cadmatic, Maxsurf, or Siemens is a plus;
• Strong communication skills in the English language;
• Interest in innovation within the maritime sector and an open mindset toward new technologies;
• A collaborative mindset, strong planning & organizational skills, and a proactive work attitude;
• An eye for detail & quality with a practical and accurate work approach;
• Eligibility to work in the Netherlands and availability for 32-40 hours per week.
