𝐇𝐞𝐭 ‘𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬’ 𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧: 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬 De Rotterdamse haven is meer dan alleen industrie. Veel bedrijven zijn nauw betrokken bij de omgeving. Via het DeltaPORT Donatiefonds ondersteunen havenbedrijven maatschappelijke initiatieven in de regio: van sport en cultuur tot welzijn en leefbaarheid. Het fonds ontstond in de jaren ’70, toen de haven groeide en steeds meer werknemers zich in omliggende gemeenten vestigden. Om lokale initiatieven te ondersteunen, bundelden bedrijven hun krachten in één gezamenlijk fonds. Vandaag de dag is het fonds er voor stichtingen en verenigingen in het hele havengebied. Jaarlijks is er zo’n €400.000 beschikbaar, mogelijk gemaakt door havenbedrijven en het Havenbedrijf Rotterdam. Van kunstateliers voor kinderen tot lokale projecten die buurten versterken: het fonds helpt ideeën werkelijkheid te maken. Heb jij een initiatief? Yesterday was another full and energizing day at World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition!   🍳Hydrogen was served for breakfast at Ahoy accompanied by engaging discussions on the entire hydrogen value chain with members of the Hydrogen Council, Ivana Jemelkova.   𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐇₂ 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲: 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 The new partnership LAUNCH₂ officially commenced during the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition 2026 in Rotterdam. It enables the flow of hydrogen and ammonia to Europe’s industrial heartland. Strengthening resilience and accelerating industrial decarbonisation.    𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚 The Hydrogen Trade Coalition, led by NLHydrogen and VOTOB, Vereniging van Nederlandse Tankopslagbedrijven, presented the Hydrogen Trade Agenda to Minister Van Veldhoven. The companies are calling for policies that ensure stable demand for hydrogen and hydrogen carriers, as well as financial support for the first import projects and the associated infrastructure.    𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐞'𝐬 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 As Boudewijn Siemons highlighted at the launch of Gasunie’s hydrogen network, attended by His Majesty the King, hydrogen is key to building a clean, reliable and resilient energy system, strengthening Rotterdam’s role as Europe’s energy gateway. Boudewijn Siemons thanked the King for his continued commitment to advancing the energy transition.

It was a great honour to welcome His Majesty the King to the World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition in Rotterdam this week. At our stand, a select group of CEOs from across the hydrogen value chain came together for a brief but meaningful moment of connection. This powerful recognition highlights the important role that industry leaders are playing in shaping the future of hydrogen, as well as strengthening the Dutch and European economies through their investment in hydrogen development. What stood out most was the shared sense of commitment. Commitment to collaboration, to long‑term investment, and to building Rotterdam further as an integrated industrial and energy hub. World Hydrogen Summit & Exhibition 2026 is on the roll now and the city of Rotterdam is also bustling with hydrogen activity. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐰‑𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🤝  During the World Hydrogen Summit, the Port of Rotterdam, in collaboration with NGinfra, brought together CEOs from infrastructure, industry, grid operators and government for a high-level work session on green steel. The shared conclusion was clear: the transition to low-carbon steel in the infrastructure sector will not succeed through individual action alone. Demand for sustainable steel is set to grow rapidly, while scarcity is looming. Although technologies such as EAF and H₂-DRI are advancing, steel producers lack a critical factor for large-scale investment: credible, long-term demand certainty. That certainty cannot be created project by project. It can be created when infrastructure parties act together. Dutch infrastructure organizations collectively represent one of the largest and most predictable sources of steel demand. By aligning ambitions, volumes and timing, they can send a strong market signal, reduce investment risk for producers and accelerate cost-effective decarbonisation. During the CEO working session, participants agreed to move forward with a shared ambition: shifting from individual initiatives to coordinated follow-up and collective implementation. The Netherlands is an ideal starting point. With major long-term investments ahead, the opportunity to develop a coordinated demand approach is immediate and real. This initiative is facilitated by the Port of Rotterdam Authority, with NGinfra providing a neutral platform to translate shared ambition into concrete market action.
