Perciv AI C-UAS at NATO #TIE26! Due to the recent history and rapid development of drone technology, Counter-UAS (#CUAS) capabilities are more important than ever. While cameras can detect drones in a cost-efficient manner, the need for #longer_ranges and extended #weather_robustness is obvious. That is why we did not hesitate to accept the invitation to the NATO TIE26 Innovation Base expo at NLR - Netherlands Aerospace Centre, to present how #Perciv 's algorithms are compatible with not just ground vehicles, but also interception drones. Below is a short teaser demonstration: a simulated scenario above the conference location in Marknesse of a threat drone chased by an #interceptor. It is first guided by ground operations, but then passes perception to Perciv's on-board radar AI for terminal guidance - both for detecting the threat and estimating our ego-motion. The flight path and radar data is simulated. Our algorithms and the threat are not. Most people know Perciv AI as a "radar company." But being radar-first actually means we spend a lot of time working with other sensors, too - such us LiDAR, RGB, and thermal cameras! Check out for example our lidar-camera fusion solution on the video below from our recent data collection trip in Italy. Our take - it looks great! Perciv AI at IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA)! ICRA is the biggest robotic conference in the world, and Perciv colleagues have been publishing there for years. We are very proud to announce that the master thesis of our intern, Siqi Pei will be published there! DRIFT, our latest radar perception module combines multiple representations and transformer blocks to be the #state_of_the_art radar perception in multiple tasks, including object detection and free space estimation.
