  • Meet Iben, a lively six-year-old diagnosed with Rett syndrome at age three. Despite her love for food, mealtimes became challenging and time-consuming, leaving her parents concerned about her nutrition. With the help of tube feeding, Iben is now thriving, sharing meals with her family, and finding new energy for play and learning. 💜 “It’s actually not complicated,” says Iben’s mom.     Malnutrition has a significant negative impact on cancer treatment outcomes and patients’ quality of life [1-2]. Despite strong clinical guidelines underscoring the importance of systematic nutritional care in oncology, its implementation in everyday clinical practice remains inconsistent. On World Cancer Day, we are proud to share the outcomes of the 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗢𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆, held on 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟴𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. A heartfelt thank you to the 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟵𝟬 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭𝟱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 - oncologists, dietitians, radiologists, nurses, and surgeons - who joined us. 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘢 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘰 - highlighting why nutrition is a non‑negotiable part of cancer care and sharing evidence‑based strategies for implementation. ✅ Best practice sharing across Europe and country‑led workshops inspiring concrete actions to integrate nutritional pathways into cancer care. ✅ 15 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘴, essential for supporting pathway implementation and enabling meaningful local actions. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀: 💡 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 94% of participants plan to initiate steps to enhance nutritional screening and intervention in their centers. ⭐ 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4.9/5 overall satisfaction score!
