📊 Only 41% of suppliers say that their largest customers are truly engaged in sustainability. The EcoVadis and Accenture Sustainable Procurement Barometer 2026 landed this week. It draws a sharp line between procurement teams chasing compliance and those building commercial resilience. "The era of execution has arrived," says the report. That means the question isn't whether your suppliers are scoring enough. It's whether you're equipping them to improve. 📘 Anna A Ma, Joy Merle Stindt, Ellen van der Linde & Shubham Choudhary have worked on an expert playbook that touches on this exact topic. #CSRD in 60 seconds: You’re out of scope, now what? The #Omnibus developments may take you out of #CSRD, but as Rachit Paliwal explains in this 60-sec snapshot: Stakeholders will still ask for solid ESG data. Rachit’s 3-step reset for 2026: 🧭 Leverage voluntary frameworks such as VSME or GRI to structure your reporting 🧩 Do a voluntary double materiality assessment to prioritise the topics that actually matter 📊 Strengthen your ESG “proof” to support investor, customer, and lender requests, plus improve ratings such as EcoVadis Out of scope doesn’t mean out of expectations. ♻️ Starting to scale Product Carbon Footprints? That’s where it gets real. Rolling Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs) out across an entire portfolio and supply chain is where most organisations hit the wall. Why? 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞. If you’re ready to make carbon transparency operational at scale, we have a webinar for you. Together with a guest speaker from our ecosystem partner PACT (Partnership for Carbon Transparency), we’ll share practical ways to turn #PCF work from a specialist project into a core business process. 🤔 If you’re asking things like… -How do we scale PCFs without overwhelming internal teams? -What role do standards and interoperable formats play in making this efficient? …you’re in the right place. And yes, the final 15 minutes are live Q&A, so bring your toughest PCF challenges. 🎙️ Francesc Romero and Cilia Keser Ingabire from Nexio Projects and Isobel Farnsworth from WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development 📅 4 June 2026 | 4.00 PM – 5.00 PM CEST 🌿 Sign up link in comments

🌎 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐏 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞: 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐂 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 Last week, we had the pleasure of joining a workshop with UN Global Compact Network Netherlands (#UNGC NL), bringing together sustainability decision makers from across sectors to dive into one key question: How can the Communication on Progress (#CoP) become a strategic tool, not just a reporting exercise? Sander Bastiaan de Ruiter welcomed our reporting expert Romina Coral Andrade as a guest speaker. The workshop walked participants through how the CoP works, what “good” looks like, and the value it can unlock internally and externally. Romina’s contribution was through two case studies from real client work, showing the CoP’s interoperability with key frameworks, including #EcoVadis, #GRI, and #CSRD, to support a more integrated reporting approach. The energy in the room was great, and we wrapped up the session the best way: with drinks and conversations. A big thank you to Bas and Monica Pascual Peñas for the organisation, and to our team members Romina and Defne Yurddaş for representing Nexio Projects. 👇 Any questions about CoP & other reporting frameworks? Reach out to Romina! #UNGlobalCompact #UNGCNL #SustainabilityReporting #ESG #ResponsibleBusiness

𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞: 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐄𝐒𝐑𝐒 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝 The European Commission has published new drafts of its proposed revised European Sustainability Reporting Standards (#ESRS) and a new Sustainability Reporting Standard for voluntary use. A consultation is opening to finalise the adoption of simplified reporting standards for both large and smaller companies. The ESRS exposure draft builds on the detailed November 2025 working draft, further refining the proposed simplifications through updated technical drafting, stakeholder feedback integration, and greater legal alignment ahead of final adoption. Two things stand out: 📌 What didn’t change: No move toward close alignment with #ISSB: Following media reports that the Commission had considered much closer alignment with the #IFRS Foundation’s ISSB standards, the draft is notable for changes that were not included. This preserves the prominence of the European ESRS’ double materiality approach (reporting on both financial risks to the business and the company’s impacts on people and the environment). 📁 How the #Omnibus “simplification” is being implemented inside the drafts: The draft standards would be the final major step in the Commission’s Omnibus I simplification push. Omnibus, approved earlier this year, reduces CSRD scope by 90% by excluding companies below €450m revenue and 1,000 employees (vs. the prior 250-employee threshold). - Outside #CSRD scope: Limits what larger companies can request, tied to a new voluntary standard based on EFRAG’s VSME (with minimal changes to align with the revised ESRS). - Still in scope: Keeps most of EFRAG’s simplifications (61% fewer mandatory datapoints and removal of voluntary disclosures), plus targeted clarifications and flexibilities. Notable draft ESRS specifics include: (1) added flexibility to define the GHG inventory boundary using either financial or operational control, and (2) a requirement to be transparent when transition-plan targets are not 1.5°C-compatible. 📣 Process & timeline - November 2025: EFRAG published an initial detailed working draft / technical proposals for ESRS simplification. - May 2026: EFRAG released the updated public consultation exposure draft for stakeholder comments. - Post-consultation: Consultation is open till June 3. After that, EFRAG will finalise and formally submit its technical advice to the European Commission. - After that: The European Commission will review, potentially amend, and officially adopt/publish the revised ESRS through a delegated act. If you want to sanity-check what this means for your reporting roadmap and how it impacts your 2026 planning, get in touch with our reporting expert Dora Cristian. What a day! 🎉 This Monday, we welcomed a group of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Global Business & Sustainability master's students to our offices for our in-house day, and it was a great one. The students came in curious, asked sharp questions, and brought real energy to the workshop. The double materiality case study sparked some genuinely impressive discussions, and the Q&A at the end showed just how thoughtful this cohort is about their futures in sustainability. We were so happy to have them! 🙌 A few highlights from the day: 🤝 17 students joined us for a full afternoon of intro sessions, a double materiality workshop, and a candid Q&A with our own Sophia Grotz and Romina Coral Andrade. ⛓️ Herman Grové, Ellen van der Linde, and Nada Afra guided the teams through a furniture manufacturer value chain case study. The students tackled it with real enthusiasm (and a healthy dose of competitive spirit). 📸 We finished with a group picture, and some students took on the Nexio Projects polaroid stand to commemorate the day. Big thanks to Can Yörük, Cilia Keser Ingabire and everyone involved in making it happen. Onwards! 🚀
