Updates

  • Continuing our celebrations of International Tea Month, some of our leadership team and CEO Marc Busain visited Japan, a market where tea is not just a category but an important part of everyday life.     Together with our Japan team, they explored how consumer habits are shifting and how tea is finding new expressions across formats, occasions, and channels. It was a strong reminder that staying relevant here requires both respect for tradition and a willingness to evolve with changing lifestyles and expectations.     Experiencing a traditional tea ceremony added another dimension to the visit. It reinforced the care, precision, and cultural significance of tea in Japan, elements that shape how people connect with tea today. Japan continues to offer valuable insights into how the tea category can evolve while staying rooted in craft, culture, and everyday moments.    Bruno LAINE Constance Frerot Satoshi Takamori #liptonteasandinfusions #tea #japan #internationalteamonth

  • Happy International Tea Day! As we mark this globally critical day for tea, we want to recognise the importance of partnerships in the tea industry.    Recently, we joined forces with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism as the official tea partner at the Dubai Pavilion during the Make it in the Emirates Exhibition, one of the UAE’s most prestigious platforms for industry and innovation, led by the Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology | وزارة الصناعة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة.     Standing alongside other leading manufacturers at ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, our Lipton Jebel Ali factory team showcased how manufacturing excellence, digital transformation, and a commitment to innovation are redefining what’s possible in the tea industry.     Being part of an initiative that unites manufacturers, investors, and policymakers to cement the UAE's position as a global industrial hub is exactly the kind of partnership we believe in.     By collaborating with the right stakeholders, we can move the industry forward. Together, we are brewing a stronger and brighter future for our category and the communities that make tea possible.    #liptonteasandinfusions #tea #internationalteaday #dubai

  • Few cultures share as deep a bond with tea as Japan. Throughout May, we’re celebrating the rich cultures and stories behind tea, so let’s dive into this one.    Tea first arrived in Japan from China in the 9th century, brought by Buddhist monks who valued it for its meditative qualities.     Over centuries, it evolved from a medicinal drink into an art form. This gave rise to the iconic Japanese tea ceremony, where matcha is served to guests in a serene setting, prepared with mindfulness and respect.    That spirit of care and intention lives on today, from the meticulous hand-picking of tender new shoots for premium matcha to the quiet ritual of an everyday cup.    Takashi Kawashima, our Research and Innovation Japan Lead, shows us the role tea plays in his life. A perfect way to celebrate International Tea Month!    What makes tea central to your culture? Let us know in the comments.    #liptonteasandinfusions #tea #hachijuhachiya #japan

  • For over 135 years, the LIPTON name has stood for quality, accessibility, and connection. As we celebrate International Tea Month, let’s remember the man behind the brand…     Thomas Lipton opened his first grocery shop in Glasgow, UK, in the mid-19th century. Within a few decades, he’d transformed the tea industry and been knighted by Queen Victoria.    At a time when quality tea was a luxury reserved for the few, Sir Thomas worked to spread the pleasures of tea worldwide. And it worked!    Marketing tea directly to consumers, using memorable slogans like “Direct from the tea gardens to the teapot”, Sir Thomas helped LIPTON become a household name across continents.    Today, we continue that same mission with pride: crafting great teas for every occasion, to bring joy and inspire a healthier lifestyle.    Watch the video to see 135 years of the brand’s history told through its logo.    #liptonteasandinfusions #tea #internationalteamonth

  • Last week, our CEO Marc Busain visited South Africa, a dynamic and diverse market playing an increasingly important role in the global tea landscape.    Marc’s trip began with trade visits in Johannesburg, where he understood the breadth of the country’s retail landscape. He then went to Durban, meeting the team behind our iconic local brands like JOKO and Glen.     A tea tasting session added depth to these conversations and highlighted the craftsmanship and expertise behind every cup we craft.     Visits like these help build understanding of local markets and the people and brands shaping the tea category across Africa. Check out some pictures below!    #liptonteasandinfusions #tea #southafrica

  • In this edition of #SpillTheTea, Quintus Busscher shares his reflections on an inspiring AI Immersion Week that was held at our offices in Katowice, Poland.    "What an AI-mazing week!” he says. “We had workshops, expert events, and panel discussions, with great energy and engagement throughout.”    His highlight? “Probably the hackathon, but the hands-on sessions and practical use cases were also highly informative, full of ideas on how to boost productivity and customer outcomes. I’d say the main lesson is that AI adoption goes way beyond technology. It’s about enhancing our craft through better collaboration.”    We continue to elevate our AI capabilities and help make sure there’s a cup for everyone.    Thanks for sharing your insights, Quintus. Great to see this enthusiasm!    #liptonteasandinfusions #tea #AI #poland

  • As we celebrate World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we want to thank all our colleagues who bring our culture of safe-tea to life! Living our People First value means putting the safety, health, and wellbeing of our people at the heart of everything we do.    In 2025, we recorded zero lost-time incidents across our manufacturing network.     While this is an important milestone, we know that safety is a continuous journey and there is always more to learn and improve. This is why we remain focused on strengthening our safety culture by actively identifying risks, learning from near misses, and continuously improving the way we work.    This is what every colleague deserves, and every consumer expects. As one team, we continue to build a working environment that is fair and safe, and where everyone feels empowered to speak up and reach their full potential.     #liptonteasandinfusions #tea #worlddayforsafetyandhealthatwork #safety

  • This Earth Day, we’re touching grass and celebrating what’s beneath our feet!    Healthy soil is vital for tea cultivation. But it’s under threat.     Rising temperatures accelerate drought and biodiversity loss, while also causing the spread of new pest species. These pressures can increase demand for pesticides that further degrade soil health. As an industry, we have to break this cycle.    Together with our value chain partners, we’re promoting the use of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques that enable tea farmers to prioritise prevention, biological controls, and reduce pesticide use.     Through our Lipton Tea Innovation & Technology Academy, we also offer expert-led modules on topics including biological pest control and the latest IPM technologies. Equipped with this knowledge, farmers can grow the tea you love while preserving the soil we need.    #liptonteasandinfusions #tea #earthday #soilhealth
