Van vers belegde broodjes tot fruit en zoetigheden – alles stond klaar. Een mooi gebaar dat bijdraagt aan de verbinding op de campus. 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲? 𝐎𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐎𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲? De discussie over manloos produceren klinkt aantrekkelijk. Maar in een high-mix, high-complexity productieomgeving vraagt de realiteit om een andere aanpak: vergaand automatiseren én de mens in the loop houden. Recent rondden twee collega’s hun PhD-traject aan de Technische Universiteit Eindhoven af. Met hun onderzoek naar automatiseringsconcepten en AI-agents leggen zij een belangrijk fundament onder data-gestuurde productie. 𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗗’𝘀. 𝗘𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. Nitish Singh (Data Scientist & Production Process Engineer) onderzocht het gebruik van AI-agents in productie en de bijbehorende data-infrastructuur. Koen Herps (Industrial Technology Lead) onderzocht automatiseringsconcepten zoals centrale of decentrale gereedschapsopslag en het gebruik van AGV’s (Automated Guided Vehicles). 𝗩𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗿 Onderzoek krijgt pas waarde wanneer het de praktijk versterkt. Daarom vertalen we academische inzichten direct naar concrete keuzes in onze productieomgeving. Wij automatiseren niet om het licht uit te doen, maar om slimmer te produceren, risico’s beheersbaar te houden en flexibiliteit te vergroten. De Factory of the Future ontstaat daarbij stap voor stap, met data als fundament en met duidelijke keuzes in standaardisatie en integratie. Data-gestuurde productie vraagt meer dan technologie alleen. Het vraagt visie, standaardisatie en keuzes durven maken.
