✨🇲🇷 Mauritania has the geography for #GreenHydrogen at gigawatt scale. The expertise to match it is now in training. In Hamburg, 14 experts from Mauritania - professionals from ministries, state companies, the national regulator, NGOs, ports and training institutes worked through our Renewable #PtX Train-of-Trainers curriculum. This marks the first step of a three-week programme hosted by the International Power-to-X Hub. The aim is to strengthen technical understanding of #PowerToX and to equip participants to pass this knowledge on with their institutions. 🎯 The group visited the port of Hamburg by boat and examined its role in the energy transition. They exchanged with Abbad Cheik, Honorary Consul of Mauritania in Hamburg and Northern Germany. 🤝 The delegation also visited Möhring Energy Group Hamburg as part of the program. The evening began with an opening remark from CEO Jan-Christoph Block, followed by an address from His Excellency Dr. Boubacar Kane, Mauritanian Ambassador to Germany. The group then dived into the #NAYRAH project in detail. A gigawatt-scale green hydrogen and #GreenAmmonia initiative planned near Nouadhibou, on the northwestern coast of Mauritania. The project is supported by a framework agreement signed with Mauritania last November. 🔎 The Train-of-Trainers wrapped up in Berlin at the GIZ Representation with peer-group practice led by the participants themselves and a high-level reception bringing together BMZ and the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum / Mauritania represented by Ms.Taghiya Abeiderahmane, Director of Low Carbon Hydrogen. 🏭 Next up: a #GreenSteel module and a study tour to Siemens Energy, Salzgitter AG, thyssenkrupp Steel and Cologne University of Applied Sciences, deepening the focus on industrial #Decarbonisation. A big thank you to our trainers Prof. Dr. Christoph Menke, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Timmerberg, Prof. Dr. Thorsten Schneiders and Torsten Schwab, and to our colleagues at GIZ Mauritanie for making this possible! 🙌 Stepanka Signoretta Ruth Barbosa Thomas Elmar Schuppe Mathieu Courbon Kim Rademacher #TrainOfTrainers #EnergyTransition #CapacityBuilding #Mauritania
