In April 2026, RIX Riga Airport handled 584,000 passengers and 5,514 flights, while air cargo volumes reached 2,825 tonnes, an increase of 95% compared to the same period last year. Since the beginning of the year, the airport has already served 2 million passengers in total. The most popular destinations from Riga included the UK, Germany, Finland, Italy and Spain, while the fastest growth in passenger numbers was recorded on routes to Denmark, Belgium, Finland, Türkiye and the Netherlands. Cargo traffic also maintained strong momentum, with 9,757 tonnes of air cargo handled during the first four months of 2026, 61% more than a year ago. #RIXRigaAirport #aviation #aircargo #connectivity #Baltics

We celebrated a special milestone - 20 years of partnership with Turkish Airlines. 👏 Passengers were welcomed with delicious treats, and we marked the occasion by greeting the arriving aircraft with a beautiful water salute - a symbolic moment highlighting this long-standing collaboration. RIX Riga Airport ranks among the world’s most punctual airports. 👏 In March 2026, RIX Riga Airport achieved 3rd place globally in the category “The Most On-Time Small Airports” according to Cirium’s On-Time Performance data. 💬 “This achievement demonstrates high operational accuracy and well-coordinated processes, as well as strong cooperation with airlines and airport partners,” said Laila Odina, Chairperson of the Board, RIX Riga Airport.

The Supervisory Board of RIX Riga Airport has reappointed CEO Laila Odina for another five-year term, effective 16 April 2026. Following an evaluation of her performance, the decision reflects continued progress in delivering strategic objectives, ensuring operational stability, and advancing infrastructure and sustainability initiatives. “Despite a complex and evolving aviation environment, we have maintained a consistent development path - ensuring stable performance, investing in infrastructure, and advancing sustainability and innovation. Going forward, we will continue to strengthen our competitiveness in the region by aligning our tariff policy with market conditions and delivering key projects, including the new passenger terminal and RIX Airport City,” said Laila Odina.
