🚀 Latvia’s crypto and FinTech ecosystem continues to accelerate! Congratulations to Neverless on receiving a #MiCA licence from Latvijas Banka — now the 4️⃣th company licensed under the new EU crypto-asset framework in Latvia. Combined with 8️⃣ FinTech licences issued already this year, the direction is clear: Latvia is steadily strengthening its position as an attractive European destination for digital finance and regulated innovation. A positive signal for FinTech companies looking for an EU base with ambition and clarity.

This week, a Latvian startup delegation is taking part in a trade mission to Vienna, Austria, organised by the Invest in Latvia, participating in #ViennaUP — the largest startup festival in Central and Eastern Europe, organised by ViennaBusiness, Austria Wirtschaftsservice, and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. 🚀 Latvian startups showcased their solutions not only at two LIAA Representative Office in Austria stands, but three Latvian companies (Ervy, Vibe Skills, L-Blend) were also selected to pitch their solutions to investors and partners on stage during #ConnectDay2026 and #CEEForum. “This is my second time joining the LIAA trade mission to ViennaUP, presenting both of my companies — Snippets AI and Vibe Skills. Last year, we connected not only with partners from the CEE region, but even from Uzbekistan. This year, following our stage presentation, we were approached by new clients. Being part of the delegation offered an efficient platform for entering the CEE market,” says Alina Sprengele, co-founder and CEO of Snippets AI / Vibe Skills. To conclude the trade mission, the LIAA Representative Office in Austria, in cooperation with the Embassy of Latvia in Austria, hosted a reception to mark the launch of a new mentorship programme between LMT Group and company Infineon Technologies, supporting businesses developing smart IoT devices. “This is our third consecutive year at ViennaUP, and we clearly see that consistent, focused engagement strengthens not only the visibility of Latvian startups, but also Latvia’s credibility as an innovative and capable country. Vienna opens doors not only to Austria, but also to investors from across Central Europe and even markets as far as Singapore and Japan. Latvian companies absolutely have something to offer,” says Inga Ulmane, Head of the LIAA Representative Office in Austria.

🤝 Latvia continues to strengthen its position as a promising hub for financial innovation and fintech development in the Baltics! 🏦 During an investment visit to Latvia coordinated by LIAA in cooperation with the Fintech Latvia Association, Norwegian investors and representatives of the emerging digital bank L-Bank met with Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis, Head of the Fintech Latvia Association Tina Luse, and LIAA Director Ieva Jagere I EMBA to discuss investment opportunities and potential areas of cooperation in Latvia. 📍 As part of the visit, the investors also met with representatives of the Bank of Latvia to discuss the bank licensing process, regulatory requirements, compliance matters, and risk management approaches related to the future operations of the bank. 💼 LIAA continues to actively support and attract international investment projects, strengthening Latvia’s competitiveness in financial technology and innovation. The growing interest of such projects in Latvia highlights the country’s potential to become a significant regional hub for fintech and digital financial services. Investment and innovation agency leadership teams from #Latvia, #Lithuania and #Estonia met in Vilnius to discuss shared priorities in export and investment promotion. 🚀 LMT Innovations and Infineon Technologies AG launch mentorship program for IoT + Edge AI startups The program has been developed through collaboration between LMT IoT, Infineon Technologies AG, and the Latvijas Investīciju un attīstības aģentūra - LIAA, bringing together industry and public-sector expertise to support startups and product companies next-generation IoT devices that combine edge AI with low-power cellular connectivity. The program is designed for teams working on solutions such as industrial monitoring, predictive maintenance, environmental sensing, smart agriculture, asset tracking, smart building systems, and more.
