We were pleased to welcome students from American University of Beirut at Beesline as part of AUB OSB’s Business and Sustainability (BUSS 224) course, giving them the opportunity to explore how sustainability is practiced within organizations. Throughout this experience, students worked closely with our team on two meaningful projects: - GRI Reporting - Development of a biodiversity strategy for Beesline Collaborations between academia and businesses are essential for bridging the gap between theory and real-world implementation. By connecting students with real business challenges, we can help equip the next generation of professionals with the knowledge, critical thinking, and hands-on experience needed to better prepare them for the job market and empower them to drive meaningful impact in their future careers. Sustainability is most meaningful when it moves beyond discussion into practice. Marking the close of a semester-long learning journey in sustainability and ESG, the Business and Sustainability course (BUSS 224) brought together classroom discussion, student engagement, and applied projects developed with our community partners. Students explored how sustainability is framed, challenged, and applied across organizations, moving from classroom learning and case discussions to real organizational questions and applied project work. Despite a disruptive and demanding semester, their continued engagement and final presentations reflected the value of experiential learning in shaping future leaders equipped to navigate sustainability challenges with analytical rigor, ethical awareness, and practical problem-solving skills.
