# ServerSettings Class

  The [ServerSettings Class](../../../relational-databases/wmi-provider-configuration-classes/serversettings-class/serversettings-class.md) represents server settings on an instance of [!INCLUDE[msCoName](../../../includes/msconame-md.md)] [!INCLUDE[ssNoVersion](../../../includes/ssnoversion-md.md)].  
  
 The [ServerSettings Class](../../../relational-databases/wmi-provider-configuration-classes/serversettings-class/serversettings-class.md) allows you to perform the following tasks:  
  
-   Access general flag settings for the instance of [!INCLUDE[ssNoVersion](../../../includes/ssnoversion-md.md)].  
  
-   Set default values for the instance of [!INCLUDE[ssNoVersion](../../../includes/ssnoversion-md.md)].  
  
-   Set the security certificate for the instance of [!INCLUDE[ssNoVersion](../../../includes/ssnoversion-md.md)].
