# setShort Method (SQLServerPreparedStatement)

  Sets the designated parameter to the given **short** value.  
  
## Syntax  
  
```  
  
public final void setShort(int index,  
                           short x)  
```  
  
#### Parameters  
 *index*  
  
 An **int** that indicates the parameter number.  
  
 *x*  
  
 A **short** value.

## Remarks  
 This setShort method is specified by the setShort method in the java.sql.PreparedStatement interface.
