# getBoolean Method (java.lang.String)

  Retrieves the value of the designated parameter as a **boolean** value given the parameter name.  
  
## Syntax  
  
```  
  
public boolean getBoolean(java.lang.String sCol)  
```  
  
#### Parameters  
 *sCol*  
  
 A **String** that contains the parameter name.  
  
## Return Value  
 A **boolean** value.  
  
## Exceptions

## Remarks  
 This getBoolean method is specified by the getBoolean method in the java.sql.CallableStatement interface.
