# Date and Time Improvements (ODBC)
  [!INCLUDE[ssKatmai](../../includes/sskatmai-md.md)] introduced new date and time data types. This section describes how these new types are exposed as extensions in [!INCLUDE[ssNoVersion](../../includes/ssnoversion-md.md)] Native Client.
