# Partitions (Cube Designer) (Analysis Services - Multidimensional Data)
  Use the **Partitions** tab in Cube Designer to create and modify partitions, including storage, proactive caching, and writeback settings, for each measure group in the cube.  
  
 The **Partitions** tab contains the following panes:  
  
## Panes  
 **Toolbar**  
 Use the toolbar to perform common actions on the tab.  
  
 **Measure Groups**  
 Use the **Measure Groups** pane to create and modify partitions for each measure group in the cube.
