The ingredient application & evaluation scientist is a key role responsible for the coordination and execution of the new FRET ingredient cross category in use assessment, resulting in a recommendation on the Go/No Go versus the specific target KPI’s.

Where You’ll Make a Difference

  • Key point of contact for the R&D/AoP platform perfumers
  • Prepare application samples based on AoP Perfumer’s inflow list of new FRET ingredients; as such, in accords or in finished fragrance
    • Focus in Hilversum is on Fabric Care
  • Prepare and run the ingredient evaluations “in use” of these application samples at key consumer touchpoints against a relevant benchmark
    • Ensure evaluations are set-up against the original R&D outline KPI’s
    • Assess ingredient value for each consumer relevant touchpoint
    • Link with the categories for the specific touchpoints and evaluation settings
    • Together with the R&D/AoP perfumers (and rest of the AoP team evaluators) decide on Go/No Go for each specific FRET material against the specific R&D outline KPI’s
    • Identify relevant usage levels range for each new (accepted) FRET material
  • Stability testing of the application samples, and evaluation of these samples
  • Data management of all new FRET material in use assessment; ensure historical tracking is possible
    • Work closely with Fragrance Ingredient strategic specialist to maintain a database of commercialized new FRET ingredients
  • Provide in use assessment data as input for the Value propositions and demo’s to improve the commercialization of new ingredients
  • Arrange sensory panel evaluations where relevant
What Makes You The Right Fit

  • Bachelor degree or higher in organic chemistry
  • 3+ years’ Scent experience in fragrance ingredient projects/programs; Subject expert
  • Strong organizational & project management capabilities, analytical thinking, creative problem solving and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High intrinsic motivation, action- and results-oriented, hands-on mentality, flexible with an open mindset
  • Conscientious, attention for detail, structured and organized
  • Strong affinity for fragrance ingredients (chemistry)
  • Ability to smell fragrance ingredients
