Electrification is a key part of the energy transition. At the Copenhagen Climate Ministerial in Denmark, #COP31 President-designate Murat Kurum said electrification must move faster. #Electrification supports both climate action and energy security. In 2025, global electricity demand grew by 2.8%. Developing economies drove most of this growth, and China accounted for more than half of the global increase. #Solar PV and #wind supplied almost all new electricity demand. This stopped growth in fossil fuel power generation and helped renewables produce more electricity than coal. Faster electrification in #industry, #transport and #buildings, together with stronger# grids, more storage and flexible energy use, will reduce dependence on fossil fuels, improve energy security and support the shift to a renewables-based economy.  https://lnkd.in/ew9bNtNz
