Connecting floating offshore wind to the grid is one of the most complex challenges of the energy transition. And that is exactly what we are working on with RHODÉ. Nexans is joining a consortium of 7 players to develop a floating HVDC electrical connection that will power the wind farms of tomorrow, installed at depths of over 100 meters and tens of kilometers from shore. At these distances, traditional solutions reach their limits. The HVDC dynamic cable is the technological building block that makes everything else possible. ⚡️ Our concrete role in RHODÉ: designing, manufacturing and testing - in our Halden and Calais facilities, the HVDC dynamic cable system. One example of hands-on work: the tensile bending test, which simulates the traction and flexion stresses the cable undergoes during installation from a cable-laying vessel. A demanding test, but an essential one to ensure long-term reliability. See you at the 2040 horizon for the first floating HVDC 320 kV or 525 kV connections. 🎯

Most vessels get one godmother. This one got three.   On 28 April, CLV Nexans Electra was christened at Ulstein Verft in Norway. Monica Kollegård, who knows how cables are made. Fatima Ezzahra El Gout, who knows how they're engineered. Jamila Samri-Manneh, who knows how they reach the seabed.   Three women from three operating regions across PWR-Transmission, standing on that quay as one team. Because that's how subsea projects actually get delivered.   The vessel features: ✅ Three turntables with a total cable capacity of 13,500 tonnes ✅ Capability to bundle‑lay up to four cables simultaneously ✅ Advanced subsea tooling, including jetting and burial systems ✅ Hybrid power system with the ability to operate on biodiesel blends, significantly reducing emissions while maintaining performance   A new milestone in Nexans' ability to deploy critical energy infrastructure, at a global scale. Nexans Electra joins the Nexans Aurora and Nexans Skagerrak to form one of the most advanced subsea cable installation fleets in the industry.   The future of offshore energy? We're building it. ⚡ Learn more here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/ekm9qBTN?

70% of loads in a modern building already run on Direct Current. Solar panels, batteries, EV chargers, LEDs, electronics devices. Yet the entire electrical backbone still converts everything to AC, then back again, losing 5 to 20% of the energy in the process. We decided to test what happens when you stop converting. AmpaCity, our global innovation hub in Lyon, now runs on a DC microgrid. Workstations, lighting, a 14.4 kWh battery and two 30 kW EV fast chargers, all powered by our DC Series cables. Schneider Electric integrated the AC/DC interlink converter. VINCI Energies Building Solutions designed and commissioned the system. Photovoltaics come in phase 2. First cable manufacturer to operate a live DC microgrid inside its own R&D facilities. One of the first Current/OS pilots in France. Why it matters beyond buildings: Nexans’ DC cable deployed at AmpaCity demonstrator can be directly applied to data centers, where power density, cooling constraints and efficiency pressure are accelerating demand for alternatives to conventional AC distribution. The technology is ready. More than 120 partners across 30 countries are now collaborating within Current/OS to make it happen. First cable pull-in on the French side of the Celtic Interconnector! This operation was completed after the initial campaign in Ireland. The installation phase on the French side is now underway. Once in service, the Celtic Interconnector will form the first direct electricity link between continental Europe and Ireland. 700 MW of transmission capacity. 575 km of route. The equivalent of around 450,000 homes powered. A European interconnection developed jointly by RTE Réseau de Transport d'Electricité and EirGrid Group, with Nexans high-voltage cables & accessories designed and built across our sites in Norway, Belgium and Switzerland. Solid start to 2026. Nexans' Electrification core businesses delivered +4.9% organic growth in Q1 2026, with Group standard sales at €1.5 billion.   PWR-Transmission grew +8.8% organically, with an adjusted backlog of €7.9 billion providing strong visibility through 2028, further supported by the upcoming commissioning of Nexans Electra, our third cable-laying vessel, expected mid-2026. PWR-Grid posted +5.7% organic growth, lifted by call-offs under framework agreements and sustained data center momentum, with Accessories delivering double-digit organic growth. PWR-Connect delivered +2.5% organically, with recovery signals confirming across France, Spain and Italy.   In parallel, Nexans signed the acquisition of Republic Wire, an American manufacturer of low-voltage copper and aluminum wire products headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. Generating c.€520 million in annual revenue (over the 12-month period through February 2026), Republic Wire establishes a scaled platform in the United States, one of the world's largest low- and medium-voltage cable market. Combined with the recent acquisition of Electro Cables in Canada, it builds an integrated North American footprint serving high-growth segments including data centers.   2026 guidance confirmed.   Full Q1 2026 financial information → https://lnkd.in/eypeCwaN #Electrification #ElectrifyTheFuture #Q12026 #PurePlayer

I was honoured to take part in President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to the Hellenic Republic on the 24thand 25th of April, and to participate in a roundtable discussion on the energy transition at the France–Greece Economic Forum. This two-days mission contributed to strengthen the dialogue between Nexans and its economic and institutional partners in Greece, while highlighting the country’s growing role as a strategic hub for Europe’s electrification and energy autonomy. At Nexans, we are proud to be at the heart of this momentum. Because energy is the foundation of political freedom, and electrical sovereignty depends on physical infrastructure, long-term investment and rare industrial expertise. This is what Nexans’ commitment is all about: leveraging its industrial expertise as the world’s pure player in electrification to… ➜ Bring nations closer together by connecting the power systems of entire countries; ➜ Strengthen territorial resilience by bringing offshore wind energy back to shore and building grids capable of absorbing the large-scale intermittency of renewable energy; ➜ Enhance everyday performance by equipping buildings, industrial sites and digital infrastructure with reliable, sustainable solutions that are essential to the safety and continuity of the economy. #Nexans #FranceGreeceEconomicForum
