Recently, George Khisa from the Scope Impact team attended the World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2026 in Nairobi, where one message emerged consistently across discussions on financing, AI, digital health, and implementation: climate and health is increasingly being recognised as a core health systems resilience priority. The conversations highlighted a growing shift from frameworks toward implementation, interoperable systems, and locally governed solutions that can support adoption at scale. Discussions around sub-national planning, data sovereignty, and AI tools that strengthen public health delivery strongly aligned and reaffirmed the direction of our climate x health solutions. The summit in essence, reinforced the urgent need for integrated and implementation-ready climate-health solutions, a mission we at Scope Impact are committed to advancing across geographies! #ClimateHealth #HealthSystems #DigitalHealth #ClimateResilience #GlobalHealth #HealthInnovation

As we kicked off the second phase of CHART (Climate Health Adaptation and Resilience Tool) development, supported by the UBS Optimus Foundation, we were proud to convene our partners in New Delhi and virtually for the Phase 2 Strategy Workshop, an important milestone in strengthening our collective commitment to advancing climate-health resilience. The workshop was designed around a key question: What would it take for a local health officer in a climate-vulnerable region to trust and use a tool like CHART? Discussions over the 3 days focused on actualising CHART as a coalition-driven initiative, with partners aligning around a shared vision, long-term strategy, and collaborative ways of working for the next phase ahead. Participants engaged in rich participatory sessions on climate-health resilience, governance, user-centred design, sustainability, and coalition-building, while also creating space for deeper alignment. Key reflections underscored the imperative of multi-sectoral governance mechanisms, the need to strengthen data and feedback loops across stakeholders involved in climate-health planning, and the importance of bridging the data-to-action continuum while meaningfully integrating local and indigenous knowledge systems. Drawing from the learnings of CHART Phase 1 and ongoing collaboration with technical working groups comprising key state, district, and county stakeholders, the workshop also explored the role of AI in supporting more contextually grounded and adaptive climate-health planning. Through hands-on prototyping sessions, participants generated AI-assisted prototypes during the workshop itself, demonstrating how future MVPs (Minimum Viable Product) can be: - Rooted in local realities and implementation contexts - Responsive to user and stakeholder needs - Designed to strengthen anticipatory climate-health planning and decision-making - Informed by continuous feedback, iteration, and cross-sectoral collaboration It was incredibly valuable to work alongside such a diverse group of collaborators and continue building a shared foundation for more anticipatory, data-informed, and locally grounded climate-health action. A huge thank you to all partners and collaborators who contributed their time, expertise, and perspectives, both in person and remotely. Looking forward to the journey ahead! #ClimateHealth #ClimateResilience #DigitalPublicGoods #HealthSystems #Adaptation #GlobalHealth #ClimateAction

Roundtable | Heatwaves and Human Health: Fast-Tracking Prevention and Action Last week, Scope Impact convened the Heat Health Interventions Roundtable in New Delhi, India. We were privileged to welcome Dr. aakash shrivastava, Additional Director & Head (CE & OH & CCH), National Centre for Disease Control, whose insights set a strong and compelling tone for the discussions. The roundtable brought together policymakers, researchers, health professionals, and practitioners, drawing on India’s experience in heat health governance to inform broader global strategies for building heat resilience. The reflections that emerged were both clear and hopeful-the science is established, policy pathways exist, and momentum is building. With continued collaboration, India is well-positioned to lead on climate-health action nationally, while supporting other regions facing similar challenges from extreme heat and climate-related risks. We are deeply grateful to our partners for their continued support and collaboration. We’re proud to bring this conversation to the Skoll World Forum. On 22 April, we’ll be hosting a session that asks a defining question for global health: ✨ Why should we care about disability-inclusive health? We already know this: 🌍 1.3 billion people with disabilities continue to be excluded from health systems 📉 A 14-year life expectancy gap persists 🛠️ And yet - the solutions already exist Together with the Lancet Commission on Disability and Health, we’re bringing together an incredible group of speakers Satendra Singh, MD Shaffa Hameed Hannah Kuper and Melissa Malzkuhn who will tackle this question from three perspectives: 🔴 The urgency - Prof Hannah Kuper on the scale of the challenge 🟡 The moral case - Melissa Malzkuhn grounding us in lived experience 🟢 The practical path forward - Dr Shaffa Hameed and Dr Satendra Singh, MD on what it takes to deliver change Moderated by Dr Krishna Jafa And importantly, We’ll be joined by a panel of global health leaders, creating an open reflection on one key question: What will it take to act? 📅 22 April 2026 ⏰ 12:30–1:45pm BST (+ networking) 📍 Headley Theatre, Ashmolean Museum, Oxford If you’ll be in Oxford, 🎟️ Register here: https://luma.com/tn8bmfq6 we’d be excited to see you there.
