FREE events for Brighton Youth Week 2026

The Brighton Youth Action Group (BYAG) in conjunction with community presents a series of FREE events for Youth Week 2026. On 23 April at the Brighton Civic Centre:

10am-12pm Youth Xpo by Under One Rainbow

Presented by Under One Rainbow - come along and learn about what is on offer in our community for young people to enjoy and get involved with from fun activities and clubs to youth services. This is for anyone and everyone interested in young people's health and wellbeing. Prizes to be won!

1pm-3pm Youth Rap Workshop

Presented by Gagey Boyz Entertainment (GBE) a free rap workshop for 12 to 17 year olds supported by local rap artists GBE. Registrations required as only 20 spaces available.

5pm-7pm Brighton Loud & Local

A night of food and live music in the Main Hall. A rap concert for 12 to 18 year olds only. Free sausage sizzle and slushies. This is a free ticketed event with a limited capacity of 150 people only. No pass outs once inside the Brighton Civic Centre. This is a no smoking, no vaping venue.

Safety & Transport for the Brighton Loud & Local Event

Safety at the event

The Brighton Loud & Local organisers are taking a zero-tolerance approach to drugs, alcohol, vaping and anti-social behaviour at this event. Safety measures that will be in place on the night and include:

• No ticket sales on the night, no ticket, no entry.

• Screening upon entry including bag checks and metal detection.

• A box for contraband items before entering the Civic Centre.

• Qualified security guards on patrol throughout the evening.

• Secure storage for bikes and scooters.

• A staffed help desk with access to information and mobile phones.

• A qualified first aider onsite.

• Adults with current working with vulnerable people checks available for support and assistance.

Transport

Any person under the age of 18 will need to be dropped off and collected from the Brighton Civic Centre by a parent or guardian. Designated pick up and drop off points will be posted at the event.

A limited free shuttle bus service after the event will be provided by PCYC through the ticketing system.

Permission for persons under the age of 18 years to attend the event

Underage attendees must be registered by a primary care giver.

By registering for a ticket to Loud & Local you as the primary care giver are giving permission for the young person named on the ticket to attend this event.

You understand that whilst Brighton Council has put adequate safety measures in place for the event, there may be some explicit language. You are ultimately accepting responsibility for the young person named on the ticket before, during and after the event. You understand that this event is a vaping, alcohol and drug free event and that anyone found to be either under the influence, in possession of or consuming vapes, drugs or alcohol will be removed from the event.

Attendees over the age of 18 years

For attendees over the age of 18 years, as the person named on the ticket are accepting responsibility for your own behaviour before, during and after the event. You understand that this event is an alcohol and drug free event and that you will be removed if you are found to be either under the influence, in the possession of or consuming drugs, alcohol.
