Biodiversity loss is not only an environmental challenge. It is a resilience challenge.🌳✨ The ecosystems around us support the systems we depend on, from food and water to infrastructure, economies, and communities. So, what needs to happen now to better protect biodiversity, and where can businesses make the biggest impact? For this International Day for Biodiversity, Daniel Rockefeller, winner of Ramboll’s Sustainability Impact Maker Award, shares his perspective on why biodiversity matters, the role businesses can play, and how tools such as biodiversity metrics help organisations better understand and measure their impact on nature. Protecting biodiversity is not just about preserving ecosystems. It is about strengthening the foundations that societies and future generations depend on. Watch Dan discuss what stronger action for biodiversity could mean for businesses and society. 👇 #BiodiversityDay #ResilientSocieties #Sustainability

Exciting news from Singapore.🎉 A joint venture between AECOM, Binnies and Ramboll has been appointed by the National Environment Agency (NEA) to deliver consultancy services for Phase 2 of the Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) at Tuas Nexus. This will be one of the world's largest waste-to-energy facilities, designed to process 2 x 2,900 tonnes of residual waste per day. Ramboll will lead the waste-to-energy process scope, building on our Phase 1 experience and a track record of over 200 units and retrofits across 55 countries. We look forward to delivering this landmark project with our joint venture partners and NEA.🤝📈 #WasteToEnergy #SustainableChange #Infrastructure

Not all land is suitable for a data centre. And not every risk is visible from the start.‼️ Many projects face delays not because of design or construction, but because key site realities are understood too late. 👉 Power availability 👉 Water access 👉 Permitting requirements 👉 Community concerns 👉 Climate risks Issues identified too late can quickly become programme risks, leading to redesigns, delays, and rising costs. In Virginia alone, USD 900 million in projects have been blocked, while USD 45.8 billion have faced delays. The difference between a project that moves forward and one that stalls often comes down to understanding constraints early enough to act on them. That is why Ramboll has developed a new guide on early stage works for data centre site readiness. Drawing on our global experience, it explores the 10 areas that shape what a site can realistically deliver, from grid access and cooling infrastructure to biodiversity, permitting, and stakeholder engagement. Successful data centre projects start long before construction begins. Explore the guide in the comments. 👇 #DataCentres #DigitalInfrastructure #DataCentreDevelopment

The world’s longest immersed tunnel, the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link, has reached a defining engineering milestone.🎉 After a complex marine operation, the first 217-metre concrete tunnel element was transported from the tunnel factory in Rødbyhavn to the immersion site, lowered into the tunnel trench, and connected to the Danish tunnel portal beneath the Fehmarn Belt. It is the first of 89 tunnel elements that will form the 18-kilometre link between Denmark and Germany, helping create faster and more reliable transport between Scandinavia and continental Europe. The tunnel will take just seven minutes to traverse by train and ten minutes by car, reducing journey times between Copenhagen and Hamburg from four and a half hours to under three. Delivering infrastructure at this scale requires advanced engineering, precision execution, and close collaboration across disciplines. Ramboll is proud to contribute to the project through the RAT Joint Venture together with Arup and TEC Tunnel Engineering Consultants, supporting Sund & Bælt with technical expertise across a range of disciplines. The project will help strengthen connectivity and support a more resilient transport network across Europe. 📈 Read more about the Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link in the comments.👇 #FehmarnbeltTunnel #EuropeanConnectivity #ResilientInfrastructure

The success of a light rail system is often decided long before the tracks are laid.🚆 Cities that deliver high-performing light rail systems do more than build transport infrastructure. They integrate mobility with housing, climate goals, urban development, and everyday life. From governance and funding to resilience planning and community engagement, early decisions shape whether a system thrives for decades or struggles from day one. Our latest guide explores six practical lessons for cities looking to deliver light rail systems that are reliable, resilient, and built for long-term value.💪📈 Read more via the link in comments.👇 #LightRail #UrbanMobility #ResilientCities #Transport #SustainableChange

Climate action is no longer about ambition alone. It’s about resilience and competitiveness. 💪 In 2026, leaders are under growing pressure to show how climate decisions protect operations, reduce risk, and support performance in an increasingly volatile world. Energy price shocks, extreme weather, supply chain disruption, and regulatory uncertainty are no longer exceptions. They are becoming structural business conditions. Ramboll experts Patrick Moloney and Bram Miller outline five climate priorities that matter now. They are not abstract sustainability goals, but practical levers that help organisations: 👉 Strengthen governance and accountability 👉 Build resilience into critical assets 👉 Target decarbonisation where it reduces operational exposure 👉 Secure and decarbonise value chains 👉 Embed climate into capital allocation decisions Together, these priorities reflect a shift we see across sectors: climate action is increasingly judged by its ability to reduce exposure, protect value, and support long-term performance, not just by targets on paper. Climate strategy is no longer a parallel agenda. It is a test of organisational readiness in a world defined by disruption. 🤝 🔗To read more, link in the comments. 👇 #ClimateAction #Resilience #Sustainability

Reducing emissions requires measurable progress. 💹🌳 In 2025, Ramboll’s total emissions decreased by 8% compared to 2024, marking a 29% reduction from our 2019 baseline and keeping us on track towards our target to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. This progress is rooted in our purpose: to create societies where people and nature flourish. As we enter our ninth consecutive decade, that commitment continues to guide how we deliver impact that counts.🤝 Explore more in our Annual Report.
