𝐘𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 🌱🤝 From startups and food companies to researchers, investors, and industry experts, the third and final edition of Fast Forward Plant Symposium yesterday in Axelborgsalen brought together people working to move plant-based innovation. One message stood out throughout the day: The transition towards a more plant-rich food system depends on stronger connections between innovation, investment, and market demand. Because scaling new solutions requires more than strong science and technology alone. We have to: ✅ Start from real industry problems ✅ Build solutions with industry - not in isolation ✅ Create the right conditions for scaling early on A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to an inspiring day filled with discussions, perspectives and new connections 🙌 In Food & Bio Cluster Denmark, we are proud to be part of the Fast Forward partnership together with Plant2Food, Plantefonden and GUDP - Grønt Udviklings- & Demonstrationsprogram with support from Novo Nordisk Foundation. The need for stronger alignment between innovation, investment, demand and political action is also highlighted in the recent whitepaper “Foundations for an increasingly plant-based future” from the Fast Forward partnership. 🔗 Find the whitepaper here: https://lnkd.in/eBfu-5VA

Our updated Impact Framework sets the direction for how we accelerate the green transition of the agri-food system ➡️ Going forward, the Impact Framework will guide how we prioritise funding, develop our project portfolio, and ensure strategic alignment across partnerships and activities. At its core are three inflection points – where targeted innovation and collaboration can unlock rapid, systemic change: 🟢 Methane-reducing technologies for Danish livestock production are scalable and cost-effective given regulation by 2030 🟢 Plant-rich diets with low-climate impact and high-quality nutrition is the first-choice for consumers by 2050 🟢 Nutrient-rich crop production per hectare of agricultural land reaches its highest sustainable yield, while greenhouse gas emissions are significantly reduced, and nitrogen leaching and other environmental contaminants are minimized or completely eliminated by 2045 You find the Impact Framework via the link in comments. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭? Soon, we will launch a new call for projects – the largest call in our partnership’s history. The upcoming call will build directly on the inflection points outlined in the Impact Framework and invite projects that can help accelerate these systemic shifts in the agri-food sector. Stay tuned! 📻

At Food & Bio Cluster Denmark, we present our answer in a newly launched national roadmap 🌱 𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘢 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦-𝘕𝘦𝘶𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭, 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘋𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘈𝘨𝘳𝘪-𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 brings together knowledge, ambitions, and concrete action areas across the entire value chain – from primary production to consumption. But this is not just about knowledge – it’s about turning it into action. The roadmap highlights how we can accelerate innovation, strengthen collaboration, and ensure that solutions are implemented at scale. For our partners, it serves as a shared reference point to align efforts, identify synergies, and increase system-level impact. “We are in the middle of a historic transformation of the agri-food system. With this roadmap, we bring together knowledge and priorities to support the decisions and investments needed to reach our climate goals,” says CEO Anette Engelund Friis. 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 & 𝐁𝐢𝐨 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 🌱 Last year, the mission partnership AgriFoodTure and the cluster organization Food & Bio Cluster Denmark merged into a new, unified organization. By joining forces, the goal was to create a single-entry point into the innovation landscape, making it easier to navigate funding opportunities, programs, guidance, and networks 🤝 After an intensive effort to fully integrate the two organizations, the time has come for the final step of the merger: AgriFoodTure is changing its name to Food & Bio Cluster Denmark. Over the coming months, the name change will be rolled out across all our platforms – including this LinkedIn page. The mission partnership will continue exactly as it does today, just under the name Food & Bio Cluster Denmark. Also, the AgriFoodTure-funded projects will continue exactly as before. And of course, the goal of the mission partnership remains the same: To accelerate the green transition of the Danish agri-food system and position Denmark as the leader in innovative, green solutions. If you want to learn more about the new organization, feel free to sign up for our annual conference taking place on April 30 in Aarhus 🌱 FOOD & BIO SUMMIT 2026 🌱 Link in comments 👇

🔎 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 AgriFoodTure partner Klimafonden Skive has been selected by the Danish Ministry for the Green Tripartite/Ministeriet for Grøn Trepart to lead a regulatory sandbox focused on green biorefining. The sandbox initiative creates a space where authorities, companies, and farmers can collaborate to test new solutions in practice – and use the insights to help shape future regulation 📄 🌱 The goal is to make it easier to build green business models based on crops such as grass and beets, which hold significant climate and environmental potential. “We have worked for a long time to bring this opportunity to the Skive area. Now, together, we can create a green business success story where climate, environment, and local growth go hand in hand,” says Director Anne-Mette Sørensen Langvad. Congratulations to Klimafonden Skive – we're exited to see what takes shape in the sandbox! 👏 Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/dbdbqSUR

🫛𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 🫛 The AgriFoodTure portfolio features more than 30 different projects, all aimed at driving the green transition in the agriculture and food sector. Among them is the project 4P, Plant Powered Public Plates. Here, project manager Michael Allerup Nielsen addresses three key questions about the project: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵? Our goal is to open the public market to plant-based alternatives to meat and dairy products – making public procurement an effective driver for the Danish plant-based industry. By December 2027, our goal is a 30% increase in sales of plant-based alternatives to meat and dairy from wholesalers to public entities, and a 50% increase in the use of plant-based alternatives in public kitchens involved in the project – leading to a 20-35% CO₂ reduction per meal. Furthermore, our goals include developing or adapting 6-12 plant-based alternatives to meet the needs of public kitchens, and training 80 public kitchen professionals in using plant-based alternatives – with many more to follow as the course becomes part of the AMU programme. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵? In the fall of 2025, we did extensive tests of the plant-based products involved in the project in public kitchens of varied sizes and target groups, from small children to the sick and elderly. Furthermore, we conducted focus group interviews in both Sjælland and Jylland with head chefs of the involved public kitchens. All the data from the tests is now being used for further product development, creating recipes and development of course curriculums advancing knowledge and use of plant-based alterna-tives in the first half of 2026. 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 4𝘗 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯? The potential of public procurement as a sustainability driver is proven by the uptake of organic food in foodservice that increased from 1.5 billion DKK in 2013 to 3.4 billion DKK in 2023. Our project is designed to scale across Denmark’s public sector, with international potential. Adaptation of products, upskilling of cooks and chefs, and recommendations aimed at public procurement professionals will ensure that plant-based alternatives are included in food tenders, creating a scalable model for large institutions. This model can also apply to private sector canteens aiming to reduce their carbon footprints. By developing and adapting plant-based products relevant for both public and private kitchens, the project boosts the export potential of Danish alternatives in foodservice and retail markets. 4P is a partnership between Bispebjerg Hospital, Hotel Og Restaurantskolen, Orkla Foods, Plantebranchen, Matr Foods, Organic Plant Protein A/S , PerfectSeason and MLDK Mærkevareleverandørerne
