Are you unsure about the taper angle of your tool? It doesn’t have to be that way. If it’s unclear during machining what the exact taper angle of a tool actually is, deviations in precision and process reliability can quickly arise. With the tool measurement commands TLC, TDM, and TLM within the Röders RMS6 control system, this exact problem can be solved directly on the machine. How are structures in the micrometer range produced, in highly hardened steel? When manufacturing embossing tools for bipolar plates, every detail matters. Filigree channel structures, tolerances in the range of 1–2 µm, and machining times exceeding 60 hours are not the exception, they are the standard.
