  • 🌍 Sustainability is no longer a future topic. It is already part of today’s expectations. In our recent poll series, we explored different sustainability topics that are increasingly shaping discussions across the industry – from renewable energy and carbon transparency to science-based climate targets. While perspectives and priorities still vary depending on the context, one thing is becoming clear: These topics continue to gain relevance. That’s why we have already started to act on this development. As two examples from our sustainability activities, we are: ✅ Increasing the share of green electricity as a direct lever to reduce emissions in manufacturing ✅ Committing to the Science Based Targets initiative and defining targets across Scope 1–3 Both initiatives were already initiated in 2025, with the clear understanding that expectations in these areas will continue to grow. At the same time, they represent only a small part of our broader group-wide sustainability strategy, covering “Products, People and Planet”. For us, sustainability means building structures early, taking concrete action and continuously developing further.

    Digital product labeling – from concept to application. You scan – and the information is there. Instantly, and without any extra effort. In her recent video, our colleague Lisanne Klink shows in a very tangible way how simple access to digital product information can already be today: no additional label, no extra process step. What sits behind this is in-cavity marking: the DataMatrix code is not added afterwards, but created directly in the injection molding tool. A fixed insert with microstructures forms the code as part of the component itself. What makes this especially interesting: • Each component carries its own unique identity – for example via a serial number or even a timestamp down to the exact second • Every single part becomes clearly identifiable and traceable • The code can be read directly with a smartphone or scanner – delivering digital product information instantly, for each individual component In medtech and pharma, where sterility, safety and traceability are critical, reducing additional materials and process steps can make a real difference. Part of our ongoing look into digital product labeling – and a field where we continue to build experience and drive applications forward.

    Ich war nicht bereit, wie schnell das geht… 🙈 Kein Label. Kein Druck. Kein zusätzlicher Prozessschritt. In diesem Video scanne ich einen DataMatrix-Code - direkt auf dem Kunststoffbauteil. Und ehrlich gesagt: schneller als erwartet 😄 einmal mit dem Handy drauf & zack, Ergebnis da. Was dahinter steckt? In-Cavity Marking. Dabei wird der Code nicht nachträglich aufgebracht, sondern bereits im Spritzgusswerkzeug integriert. Mikrostrukturen im Werkzeug erzeugen beim Formen des Bauteils einen präzisen DataMatrix-Code - dauerhaft, fälschungssicher und ohne zusätzliche Materialien. Das Besondere: Jedes Bauteil erhält eine individuelle Identität z. B. über eine Seriennummer oder einen Zeitstempel bis auf Sekunden genau. So wird jedes Teil eindeutig identifizierbar und rückverfolgbar. 👉 Der Code kann direkt mit Smartphone oder Scanner ausgelesen werden und liefert sofort digitale Informationen zum Produkt - für jedes einzelne Bauteil.
