What’s already possible today is remarkable — AI can already be turned into highly specialized, practical expert support systems.

I converted each chapter into markdown files and ran analyses with Claude. 🎯 The results were so useful that I thought: why not index the chapters by topic and contents and make them available as a permanent skill? That's how Udo, my IP strategy advisor, was born. 🛠️ How the system works Each advisor is a Claude Skill with its own expertise and curated knowledge base as files in markdown, organized in dedicated folders on my computer. I used Claude with the Chrome connector to scrape fee tables (e.g., EPO fees hidden behind multiple menus) and otherwise had Claude automatically compile, download and index additional materials with "normal" background searches. 💡 Key design considerations ✳️ The advisors can call each other ✳️ They self-improve: at the end of each session, each skill that was called presents if something new was learned (via Internet Search or conversation with me) and asks if this should be added to its knowledge base ✳️ Initially they each had an own personality, but I realized I just want fact-focussed robot-style answers (like real patent attorneys 😜) 👥 The Board ✳️ Udo — IP strategist for startups, can call the build-in Claude LEGAL module for contract and NDA reviews ✳️ Ina — CII & ML case law ✳️ Nick — trademark law ✳️ Ana — design law ✳️ Fee — official fees and noventive price lists 1️⃣ Fictional Example A startup has developed a locally installed LLM-based speech module for a coffee machine. After brewing, the machine asks how the coffee tasted. The user describes the flavor experience, and the AI adjusts brewing parameters (temperature, grind size, pressure, etc.) accordingly. Udo provides the initial assessment — mapping out IP protection options across patent, trademark, design and trade secret, flagging the need for FTO analysis. He then calls Ina for an assessment of patentability under CII/ML case law... 🎯 In a first test run, this multi-step analysis was remarkably thorough. 2️⃣ Dummy NDA review Udo first provided strategic context for the startup's negotiation position, then triggered a detailed clause-by-clause legal analysis. 🎯 Convincing results. 🚀 Ideas for where this could be going ✳️ expanding the knowledge bases — e.g. adding specialized books on trademarks for Nick ✳️ the goal: a sparring partner you can consult for a second opinion via simply speaking to claude ✳️ advanced scenario: feeding a live Teams transcript (with client consent) to the Advisory Board during a consultation to get real-time suggestions on alternatives, strategic options, and cost estimates What do you think about this concept? Any thoughts on how to improve the setup?
